So this is the republican congress line in the sand, limiting access to birth control to women...really.
No, it has nothing to do with access to birth control, which would remain just as available as before. It is about forcing religious groups to fund something they oppose on moral grounds. It is just a step in the left's plan to delegitimize religion altogether. Use the power of government to force them to abandon their principles, one by one. The argument that it is acceptable because it only applies to non-religious aspects of their operations in which they should be treated like other businesses is unpersuasive. First, they aren't like other businesses. They operate under a specific section of the Tax Code, which recognizes such operations as hospitals are not being run for normal commercial purposes. Thus, they are part of the religious mission. Two, this was done largely for symbolic reasons rather than some legitimate desire to protect women's health. There are probably only a few hundred women at most affected directly. The symbolic value to the left however is enormous. Their hero Obama is tossing htem some red meat by bitch-slapping their biggest nemesis, the Catholic Churdh, the same church which opposes abortion and the gay agenda. This is why I see any pullback by Obama as very unlikely. The hard left is not in the business of giving up ground voluntarily. That is a tactic more associated with republicans. It's absurd in the first place that HHS is dictating what any private health plan should cover. This is one reason insurance costs so much. Different levels of government paying off lobbyists by mandating coverage for their pet causes.
Couldn't read all your propaganda post. What this is about is labor laws. That's it end of discussion.
AAA's faux (pronounce fox) political intellectual act is boring. Just helping him see a little clearer.
Maybe I need help seeing more clearly too, I like AAA's insights. Easily some of the best in this forum as far as I'm concerned.
