So your argument is not that the elite membership is worth more, but that the dollar is worth less...
I not sure how fare 100 is, since I have not read much content on bmt. It is just such a small sum and only being charged once.
I'm sure its been said before but what BMT is really good at as removal of trolls. It's a much more positive place than ET. You won't have to read thousands and thousands of pages on why you will fail. I joined when it was $50. Between the webinars, the indicators (not my thing), the journals and aggressive troll removal it's hard to argue this isn't worth $100 dollars.
Unless you get banned and then you lose your access. If you are slightly critical or controversial you have a good chance of getting banned.... Well, it is called reality and lots of money could have been saved if people were listening. Also, since they are vendor endorsed, it is not Big Mike's best interest to scare away newcomers...
Each serves it's purpose. I find BMT to be too rigid. ET= Entertainment Traders. Entertaining traders since 1997.
Coming to this thread a little late... I have been following Big Mike before it was a forum and it was just a blog, mainly because I was interested in advice on learning how to program Ninjatrader. Then he launched the forums. Then the Elite section which was "pay what you want" so I think I donated $10 and have been an Elite member ever since. I've also presented two webinars at BMT that I enjoyed doing there and they were widely appreciated by members. I like BMT because trolls, haters and trouble-makers are kicked off and it's about trying to help each other out. If you think his efforts provide value than the go ahead and pay for the Elite access. If not, then don't, there's plenty of free stuff to get access to or just don't visit the site. I think most of the criticism comes from "Mike kicked me off and now I'm pissed and I'm going to destroy him." I'm sorry you got kicked off. Maybe it was unfair in the way he kicked you off, maybe he didn't give you a warning, I don't know. Perhaps, in some cases, he was unfair or unjust. If you say you were dealt with unfairly then I will give you the benefit of the doubt. He probably should have some sort of refund policy for those that get booted off. But guess what: it's HIS house. If you don't follow his rules then you're outta there. If you were hosting a party at your house and some guy came clamoring "show me your statements" or "prove to me that you actually trade", trying to prove it to them is a waste of time anyways and I wouldn't want them in my house either. They're not adding any value or helping anybody. They're not there to try to learn or help others. They just want to get into a chest-bumping match. And if you did show them statements they'd probably claim they were Photoshopped or some other claim so it doesn't solve anything. I host a traders Meetup and sometimes we get promoters or trouble makers come to the group. It's my responsibility to keep the meetup active, positive, educational and supportive. I've had to ban people's accounts because they were abusing the intent of the group. Maybe I was unfair, probably but you know what? Too bad, I built the group the way I think it should be and my members appreciate it for me. I put hundreds of hours building the group and paying the fees to run the group so my way or the highway. I know I'm not going to please everybody but that just comes with the job. Membership in the group is free and just a few months ago I started accepting donations. I've made less than $100 in donations but I didn't create the forum to make money so I don't care. I think Mike's intentions are good in wanting to help traders be successful. If he achieves that and people value that then they should become an Elite member. In the meantime, he's human and he's probably made some mistakes but hopefully he will learn from them but I think his site can be useful, it just depends on what you are looking to get out of it and where you are at in your journey to becoming or continuing to be a profitable, consistent trader. As far as the specific question about vendor reviews, there is a vendors forum but it's member-to-member reviews like "hey, I heard about vendor X, what do you guys think of them?" and other members chime in. It's not a soapbox for Mike to individually lash out or warn us about vendors. You're welcome to check it out yourselves if you want and stop speculating. It does not require Elite access. https://www.bigmiketrading.com/vendors-product-reviews/ There is not an Elite section of the site that is specifically designated to product or vendor reviews, only the publicly-accessible one linked to above. There are only three sub-forums in the Elite Circle forum: Elite Journals, Elite Automated Trading, and Elite Downloads and then the core Elite Circle forum itself. There may be individual Elite threads here and there where vendors are discussed and even criticized (I'm not sure) but not a dedicated sub-forum for it. Frankly, if it were me, I would not allow vendor reviews on the site because of the problems you can get with upsetting other vendors or even lawsuits, frivolous or not. It's probably provides good Google juice to the site though. However, in my opinion, it's too much risk for too little reward.
Did you guys see this? AMP Futures is suing Big Mike and it's going to court. Lawsuit: AMP Futures Trading aka AMP Global Clearing This is a public notice that AMP GLOBAL CLEARING aka AMP FUTURES TRADING has filed a lawsuit against BMT regarding posts on BMT. This is not the first time AMP TRADING has used attorneys in an attempt to manipulate what is shared on the site. Attached to this thread you will find PDF copies of court documents. I plan to post further public filings as they are filed with the court. Unfortunately, attempts to settle this dispute have so far not produced a resolution. This means I am preparing to go to trial. I will be fighting to preserve the rights of posters on BMT to freely express their opinions and share their experiences. Due to this, I am starting a fundraiser campaign to raise money and support the fight. I will provide instructions shortly on how you can send funds, stay tuned. PLEASE NOTE, CONTRIBUTIONS TO BMT ARE NOT TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Mike https://www.bigmiketrading.com/feed...-futures-trading-aka-amp-global-clearing.html
