The strategy that made me most of my cash last year has mostly died off, largely related to interest rates and reg SHO. There was a sweet spot of about a year and a half for what I was doing and I swung big and hard. Now back to grinding it out and working on some new ideas. Hopefully one of them will hit big.
I have mentioned many times on Elite that for me the edge is Trade-Ideas. It is the thing that gives me the confidence to know I am never going to miss anything and as we pros know, any day can be one for making a few hundred or so. Which is ok until you can nail the bigger days. I am not scared to show that some days you don't make money you lose. The key is a tangible edge and for me it is my alerts. Of course show anyone anything you like here and you are instantly a vendor selling your stuff. It is kind of funny, but I am going to continue the thread we will see what happens. It is sort of getting too long maybe it is time for another one that is a little cleaner.
DT, Yeah, I did a free 5 day trial with TI. I thought it was pretty good. But I was still thinking of how to automate it. You still have to look at a lot of alerts and pick the best ones.. But it's better than nothing. Much better. What kind of stuff do you look at?
Diamondtrim, I don't think this is true. I don't think anyone is going to accuse you of trying to sell something. Please keep up your posts here, I am enjoying this thread.
Diamondtrim - I congratulate you on your success and don't have any major problem with you, but I do want to point out that probably 75% of your posts are shilling for TI. It is a pretty safe bet that you are somehow associated with them beyond just being a satisfied customer. So, don't get all "high and mighty" about people thinking you are a vendor because you "show what you like" on ET.
example of what is wrong with people. Someone is actually posting their PL and some asswipe makes fun of it saying it is peanuts. I think it takes balls to post pl and even if it is just a few positive days or consistent positive days. No one on this forum ever shows their PL but everyone talks about how much money they make. Livingston, lets assume you make 15K a day, or what ever it is, there are still many traders and money managers that would laugh at you and say that is peanuts. So don't come into a discussion talking about how 2K is peanuts. It is all relative to what each individual desires. Time to grow up.
