Interesting black and white view. The admitted commission of various Socialist acts by both Parties does not necessarily create a Socialist System. As far as the National debt is concerned, a better Socialism gauge would be the percentage of Government expenditures of total GDP. Currently this is 21% Federal and 17% state for 38% total. My personal belief is 10% Federal and 5% state for 15% total is consistent with a healthy Capitalistic system. At 50%, I would consider the US to be a de facto Socialist state. Actually, I can not see Federal and State combined expenditures above say, 20% at most, of GDP, as sustainable over the long term in a Capitalistic economic system. It may be the US has already crossed the point of no return towards the black hole of Socialism. It might be just take one more little push. The key to avoid Socialism is a strong economy where as many Americans as possible get to participate through employment. It seems Socialist leaders recognize this and have recently sent an effective “directive” in a popular broadcast to young, working people to be rude or at least standoffish towards customers. Very funny, but the employment prospects for those who play that game are poor, creating discontent which is the fuel needed for the Socialist engine to run.

How is this for black and white, I don't have a personal belief how much or little state or federal expenditures to gdp ratio should be. Because numbers can be twisted, turned and contorted to suit the audience. Following policies are easy enough IMO.
I'm not concerned about thugs at all. A coast to coast stop and frisk would be a good thing and Bloomy should advocate it. He would win many independent votes in doing so and the thug vote remains irrelevant.
Anyone see that Bloomberg presser in North Carolina where he was telling people how he remembered how his housekeeper used to lose Scrabble games on purpose just so his mom could win? That will sure relate to the commoner.
Yeh. I saw it. He is tone deaf and his biggest problem is that he is devoid of any personality whatsoever- good, bad or otherwise. Being boring and having the personna of a Russett potato is not a winner. It works for a while if you have a billion dollars worth of ads out there making you look like an action figure but no one has actually seen you in ten plus years. Ironically his trajectory is following Biden's a little bit even though they are totally different. Biden came with a long resume but got into trouble the minute he appeared before real live people. Then they dealt with it by trying to keep him away from people more than once a day- max. I see a similar trajectory for Bloombum. He will do well except in that little part about interacting with people without blowing a foot or two off.
