Blacks are nothing more than monkeys - so say Al Sharpton

  1. Exactly. Bigotry is like pornography in that you know it when you see it. Meanwhile, the diehards are nodding, winking and denying with wild abandon.

  2. CaptainObvious is a racist moron.
Why is it bad that TGregg started this thread - it's been a major story in the news (i'm just curious). Is it because leads to morons like CaptainObvious saying stupid racist things. If that's the case ban CaptainObvious and keep the thread.

  3. Why was it fine to compare Bush to a monkey, but comparing our current congress to one, is racist?

Holder accuses us all of being cowards, yet any attempt to level the playing field and all the race card waiving liberals come running for justice.

  4. I'm a bit confused. Diehard who? Racists? If you are a diehard racist then you're probably saying "Yeah Obama's the monkey in the cartoon because he's black and they are monkeys yada yada yada." They wouldn't be denying it, would they?
I'm assuming you might mean diehard free speech people or something?

  6. It was not fine to compare President Bush to a chimp, but that was in reference to his intellect, not his race. This cartoon is an obvious racist slur at President Obama.
I agree that there's an obvious double standard at play. Leftists do seem to be quite OK with personal attacks when it suits them. That does not change the fact that this cartoon has racial implications. It is what it is, is all I'm saying.

  7. Nice try. Are you trying to be clever or are you just daft? Anyone overtly racist would be dismissed by the mainstream and lose all credibility. Overt bigotry is generally the preserve of the like minded but only in closed quarters. That's why, publicly, carefully selected words and phrases now do the work that white sheets performed so splendidly in the past.

  8. Correct. An attack on Obama's intellect wouldn't wash, so they go with what they have: poorly veiled bigotry.

As for Bush and the chimp comparisons, perhaps Americans and the world have been too bigoted against stupidity and incompetence in the White House.

  10. I wasn't being facetious, I was just looking at it from a different perspective. But I see what you are getting at now. Thx for clarifying.
