Why not just make a list and evaluate the ones we are interested in, like we do for software, brokers, etc? Baron could add a suitable category for us.
actually, it is hard to sue one for his opinion - if the opinion is stated as such, and disclaimed as only "my opinion". People get carried away with their opinions, and enter the area of outright attacks - and that's where you get into trouble. An example: I could be wrong, but in my view, ET is not the best message board. or ET sucks, most of the posters are fags or snakeoil venders. One statement is fine - the other is a bit of a problem.
well the problem is that prolly 90% of vendors couldnt trade if their life depended on it. so basically, the list would be very very very long, 90% of the industry... so yea, you'd have all of these creatures pissed off at you and prolly trying to sue you cuz u're messing with their livelihood (which is not trading Also a good start (if you're into futures trading) is to search for CFTC enforcement actions at cftc.gov CFTC is doing a nice job feretting these creatures out. Sadly, the penalties are just slap on the wrists. if the creatures had to do hard time for falsifying track records and such, i bet we'd have 90% real trader vendors and maybe 10-5% scamsters (opposite of what we have now).
We can mostly make judgements about content ourselves. But what we need are warnings about web sites which refuse to pick up the phone and don't allow you to cancel your subscription. Having said that, theStreet.com cust service does quickly answer your calls and you can cancel your trial or subscription easily without having to jump through a dozen hoops.
Well, I could be wrong, but from what I have read, ET sucks, most of the posters are fags or snakeoil venders - but I cannot verify that to be true.
there are already opionions about almost every service under the sun on this board.. a simple search will return plenty of info for anyone interested.. -qwik
Give me the list -- I'll make the website. They can sue me all they want -- they won't get a damn penny out of me. They won't even get to my 5k before the market takes it.
