  1. Does he use some sort of position size betting , one which is triggered after the odds have changed in his favour? He could be betting small until the odds change in his favour.

    The Associated Press

ATLANTIC CITY — An Atlantic City casino paid $5.3 million to a gambler weeks after another high roller won $5.8 million at the same casino.

Tropicana Casino and Resort CEO Tony Rodio told The Press of Atlantic City the unidentified gambler won most of the cash during a six-hour streak playing craps Wednesday. He also won at blackjack and mini-baccarat. Rodio says the player left a $150,000-plus tip, which was divided up among the Tropicana table games dealers.

Rodio declined to name the player. However, Rodio says it was not Don Johnson. The Bensalem, Pa., resident won nearly $6 million during a hot streak at the Trop in March and April. Rodio told the newspaper Johnson and the winning craps player will be invited back for more high-stakes gambling.

Already posted this a day ago, and mentioned that he could be a proxy of Johnson, meaning a student of his, who played instead of him...

If not, Tropicana has just really bad luck...

  4. From what I understand he does not count... so no use of conditional probability is used in his bet-variation scheme.

Blackjack with card counting has a long term positive expectancy. It is actually absurd to claim otherwise. There are pro counters who made a small fortune doing exactly that before they were effectively banned from most casinos.

Claiming otherwise doesn't change the basic fact, no matter how "off the chart absurd" you think it is.

Scientific fact that blackjack using proper card counting and basic strategy is positive expectancy. As long as its a fair game ( eg most Vegas casinos tend to use the most favourable rules to attract more action ). Casinos don't care they easily exceed these amounts from the 80% of players who play recklessly and generally give the house a sizeable edge overall.

HOWEVER, like any activity involving a small edge with volatility,
its a grind to profit on a large level. Techniques like effective money management help to some degree.

Many of the posts on this thread are no better then gossip from inexperienced players or people with incomplete research. Come to think of it, the same is true for most trading threads on here lol !!!

Blackjack is the one casino game where with proper play ( strategy AND counting ) that the player has a mathematical edge.
This is fact. It is not imaginary that there have been numerous card counters who developed projects specifically to take as much money as they could from casinos and they did. This was particularily easy several decades ago when most of the casinos thought their game was unbeatable. They found out otherwise and now they monitor all their blackjack games for counters, invoking counter measures in more serious cases.

Personally, after reading through EliteTrader posts over the winter, I'm expecting a thread on the Earth being flat soon. I'm sure 90% of the posters would claim the Earth was flat because it looks that way out their window, and anyone claiming otherwise would be ridiculed for their absurd ideas. The lesson here is people post anything on here like they are an expert on the subject. With respect to blackjack, I know more about it then 99% of the people on here, but what does it matter here ?

Are you really that old ??? Wow, I don't know many seniors who still trade professionally, but I commend you for that.

"Pompous" ??? Hmm, I've seen a lot of posts from you and they tend to be short and negative. But now I understand, at your age typing up long well spoken critiques would take a lot of energy. Again, I commend you for your efforts though.

I am sure you could make it work with all that knowledge...
