Ask any decent professional participant or any good institutional player whose been there more than a week, and you'll hear the same thing, broadcasting to the world that you have a size position on is giving up your edge. Its the mark of an amateur playing at being a big boy, or someone who feels so inadequate that they have to go to lengths to impress strangers. Either way, its bullshit and a waste of my time. Oh and by the way, anyone here know what it costs to hold 700 ES through the night? Overnight initial margin is about 5k per contract, Overnight maintenance margin is about oh 4.5k. Do the math.....When I match this up with the first couple of posts it just doesn't jive.
Oh I do know how much the overnight margin rates are. I was expecting this 20 handle down move which I made up for the losses in my last journal quite nicely. It never ceases to amaze me how the so called "traders" on this website operate and think. A thread gets bumped if a bad call is made, but good calls get ignored and the thread gets thrown into oblivion. Second, I am not an institutional player or a "professional" participant. I would never want to subject myself to the demoralizing experience of working for an investment bank or being placed at one of those "desks". I guess its just work for some folks, but its not something that I would ever want to experience or subject myself to unless the other alternative is homelessness. Watch and learn. Not every call I make is right, but at the end of the day my pile of money is much higher then yours and I sit in the confines of my residence with the freedom I earned while you sit there with a bunch of smelly guys yelling at each other on a phone and subjecting yourself to the torment of it all.
Kids use this thread as a lesson in psychology. The market soars against his fantasy positions and we hear nothing from him. As soon as the market goes his way he is back as arrogant and confident as ever. The need for verification and support from others is bubbling out if this one. Instead of just stating the direction he had to provide a huge size for the trade which tos proves didn't take place at the time he claims. How inadequte can someone feel to brag to strangers about size. Real traders of that caliber stay super quiet. Or something much more sinister is in the works such as come to my trading room and or read my blog I need the hits. It is indeed fortunate the market didn't go his way immediately as then it would have been more difficult to discern fiction from reality.
