Serious Question! Ok so let's say I had a fund and it was open for investors. (I don't) What would be wrong with me coming into a forum and giving free calls to show people what might be possible with the fund.? Why would that be a bad thing if I was a good manager and was just proving what I could do. Assuming that the calls where timestamped and verified legit where is the issue?
Figures u would ask that question. What investor would invest based upon "calls" in a chat room that cannot be verified in any manner. U know how many internet frauds are crawling around just because they can make their call with even a 30 second delay? Think about all the slippage they save themselves with their "calls". Any legitimate fund or aspiring fund manager wouldnt demean themselves to a place like this with some flippant calls which are part system, part discretion (depending upon what benefits PT Barnum). Zzzzzzz, you would be quite surprised at how many inquiries and offers i have recd from entities wanting to invest in the fund. albeit, mostly for small amounts <200k--way below our minimum. regarding posting on ET, once again, you would be quite surprised who is reading this board.
Sure in a perfect world with a Harvard Mba and lots of Wall Street buddies from your days on the trading desks you wouldn't post trades in ET. That goes without saying but what about the little guy that has got it nailed and doesn't have those contacts and connections? I see no problem with this in that situation. We used to manage boxers and the best ones came out of nowhere not the top gyms. In my opinion there are MANY great traders out there that will never be known, that can preform as well as some of the top pro's. Not taking scale into account but let's face it anything under 5 M is the same as 5 k these days. inandlong - for what it worth I don't think hank tired to trivialize anything these two morons where just provoking him and quoting stuff out of context.
samson77 I have read many of your posts so I'll respect your judgement regarding the trivializing and delete the post. I don't know yenzen, but rubberbird is a friend of mine and I appreciate his support. Thanks 'bird. Thanks samson'.
Inandlong, I am sorry that you were mentioned in this thread, and this old battle was resurrected. No need to go backwards in life. But its quotes like the one above that speak for itself. If you "had played your cards right" is demeaning and i'll fight on your side everytime against Hank, who portends to be "a kind man of the people" while spewing vile, condescending quotes like above. That's all I have to say about Hank. Hope all is well Inandlong.
All this shows is the guy has confidence in his fund I see nothing in that that demeans inandlong. You say your not trying to bring up old issues but you are, if you have a problem with hank about an issue between the two of you then deal with that and leave others out of it. I know inandlong is your friend and you are trying to protect him but you and yenzen started bringing all of it up in the first place provoking hank. sheesh hank I'm going to start charging you for a legal defense .... LOL
