  1. although you have my respect, don't be so fast, dr. Z . i am bearish untill 10179 gets taken out, then i go into neutral for a bit. i dont see sustained rally happening.

  2. I don't see a sustained rally either .....way too many structural problems in the U.S. to get bullish long term. That being said, the past two days (and probably a few more) were a lay up for a trade....and that's all I do ....is trade.

    Best to you

  3. The immediate problem for longs is this pretty bear flag on the 60min YM.

  4. Hank,

after I posted TZOO and CME as shorts the day before they plummeted, avalanche went to feedback and said the following:

Nothing like a moderator trying to squelch great trading on a trading board!!

  9. Nothing like hyperbole to misrepresent a moderator's intended actions.

Trading (great or otherwise) doesn't happen here. Elitetrader.com isn't a broker, a pit, an electronic marketplace or an exchange. It's a message board. Throughout the message board you'll find plenty of discussion about trading, but you won't find anybody that actually places their trades here. To suggest otherwise is pure fantasy. Posting a 'call' prior to the occurrence of an event such as market direction or individual stock price movement, while admirable, is nothing more than a public display of one's opinion. It isn't (as you suggest in the quote above) trading by any definition imaginable. Only you (and your broker) really know for a fact if you - or anyone else posting here - (myself included) placed an actual trade following (or prior to) the 'call.' My post in no way calls into question your credibility, but a distinct difference exists between making a 'call' and placing a trade.

Recently, Baron and the rest of the staff have renewed their efforts toward 'cleaning up the ship' so to speak. These efforts, applauded by many, included Avalanche's request to create a separate location for 'market calls' such as you describe above. Avalanche made no attempt to "squelch great trading" on this web site as you have indicated. The post to which you refer clearly indicates a desire to move the "making a call" type posts to another location. It did not ask for their elimination.
