A lot of good points here. You should really teach yourself how to build a computer (not that hard). It comes in handy and can save a lot of $ Like people said, you can usually save a lot of $ buying hardware separately than buying a premade PC, whether alienware or dell. All you must do is match compatabilities: For the CPU for example, you must match the socket to the motherboard socket. For memory, the memory speed must match the motherboard memory speed and pin (or it can be slower, but not faster). etc. There are plenty of tutorials on this. If you put something together I'll check it for you to make sure everything will fit. You of course have to put it together, but typically every plug in a machine has only one socket (you can't put a CPU in a ram slot). Always buy 2 or more tiers below the top of the line. As you get to the newest tech, the price curve goes up exponentially.

I've been building computers for 5 years now, so I know what performance certain parts will get you. Anything you buy these days for over I'd say maybe $400 or $500 will be more than enough for your trading.
