That's like saying one day the sun will burnout...yeah sure but until then are you going to sit there and spite it? Bitcoin is well on the way to replacing gold as the defacto store of value among backing and being the currency for multiple countries.
It is hysterical to me how much bitcoin triggers people, both positively and negatively. I would be pretty shocked that I don't live to both see $80-100k btc and $10-15k btc from here. Charlie Munger will fade in time but while the volatility is there I don't think we will ever lose all the newb crypto traders who just can't believe their $5k networth is now $7.5k without even having to work extra shifts at Wendys.
I keep 5% of my wealth in BTC, high volatility determines such low percent. Not care to lose, would be happy to earn something.
In a world where economic health solely depends on central bank printing i think adopting bitcoin as an official currency is the same as shooting oneself in the foot. The best for bitcoin is if we keep the status quo and occasionally light up narratives of how bad fiat money and governments and cb's are. As for replacing gold, well, there's definitely appeal in digital assets for young people simply because it's more convenient and allows you to be lazier.
Hey D I need your expertise. On low liquidity short vertical with a large spread, can the bid/ask get skewed so much that if you are forced to close the position early due to it being ITM to avoid assignment, that you could pay more than the defined risk set out at the opening? 10 calls @ .71 = $710/$290 --->Maximum loss from $1 wide spread = $1000-$710=$290
Lazier? I'd say that is lazier thinking. Most Gold that is "held" (excluding Gubmint Central Banks) is digital as well.
Not sure about your logic on this. You might want to come up with a better reason to short it than that.
Please do, I think it's hillarious seeing investors who think they are smart trying to find short positions in a bull market....
He has a valid point that it is more of a short now than it has been since March...that would have been foolish...but it is more of a pullback play. You may get one last crack at this under 40k and then its off to the races.
