Bitcoin thread anyone?

  1. I think the R/R is diminishing rapidly. I imagine $300 is a target but I don't think we get a weekly close above $300. Relative to gold it's insane, well, relative to anything it's nuts. Logic is out the window as it has no intrinsic value other than branding.

You've been proven right, but don't be the guy holding JDSU at $1,000. I'd start looking at some gold.

  2. In the back of my mind I am thinking someone/group of people might know something about the acceptance of coins to large retail establishments in the near future. There could be some big news in store that is making the insiders buy like crazy. Perhaps, when that news hits, then we will sell off. My guess is as good as anyone elses though. $1000 max this year and my guess is $45 min (from this point forward this year)

  3. People will start making relative value calls as it gains on gold. Obviously there is no tangible value here, so the risk is tremendous. it's not functioning as a viable currency as it prints these mammoth volatility figures. 187 to 240 in a day?

The chance the US government will outlaw bitcoin transactions at some point have to be above 50% in my view, does anyone disagree? It seems that Russia is the no1 spot for Bitcoin related searches, they might even find a way to say Bitcoin is helping terrorism financing

  5. Yes, I disagree. If you take a look at the recent FinCen ruling, from what I understand, as long as you are paying taxes on your gains, then OK. There is also KYC/AML for the largest exchanges now, so really, you aren't going to be anonymous totally unless you are buying straight cash to a private seller.

I want to see what the DOJ says about it. They shutdown e-gold due the criminal nature of the transactions behind it. Not saying this will end bitcoin in any way, in fact, if they tank it enough it will probably be a good buy

Replace the word authoriative with common sense and bear with sceptic. It really doesn't matter who calls what, you only need a dictionary and a history book to decide it for yourself...

    --------------------------------------

The price keeps making the ascending triangle before breaking up higher. It did at 195 and last night at 238. One must love TA....

I guess the sign to sell is when Bitcoin is on the cover of Time magazine. That has been an excellent predictor....

    -------------------------------------

Mt.Gox has a 1000$ per day withdrawal limit rule. So if you sell 1000 BTC there, it will take more than 7 months to withdraw the money... Right now they are back logged with more than 10K applications...

  8. There is a $250,000 or $500,000 limit. I can't remember. It's not 1000 though. Where do you keep getting all this terrible info from?

You guys are clearly hanging out on the wrong message board. Somebody is tipping the other posters 50-4500$:

A quick math: If 400 people own at least 3000 or more coins ( I say the average is around 6000+), that is about 3 million coins concentrated in the hands of the elite....

Well, first crash? From $265 it is down to at least 200 but possibly more. There is a major lag at MtGox. Reddit says the bid is at 178... My chart shows 202...

Or best buying opportunity.... I think they need at least 3-4 big 30-40% corrections in a few weeks to get a dose of reality...

    Edit: The action:

    "Edit: 1:10PM EST now it's $175
    Edit: 1:11PM EST now it's $170
    Someone is seriously manipulating this.
    Edit: 1:15PM EST now it's $210
    Edit: 1:20PM EST now it's $185
Edit: 1:28PM EST Bitfloor is at $200 now as well
    Edit: 1:30PM EST $195 on bitfloor, $170 on btc-e"

    https://btc-e.com/exchange/btc_usd

So that was a 30% or so drop and bounce....
