  5. Are they at 70 $ !

Naysayers will still pop up. They come in handy when we run out of buyers and we need new blood to join in.

Any brokers take these as payment and for funding ?

  6. Mt gox, the main exchange, is backed up about 4000 accounts from what the CEO just stated today - IIRC. There is a mad rush to fund btc accounts. Anyway, I sold a lot about a month ago, which hurt, but I needed the cash. I think there is 1 fund out of europe that is involved with speculation, but you will wanna check on that.

Other than that, you can buy them for cash from local sellers - just google it.

If you get in, first day knowledge, NEVER leave your coins with anyone else but your own encrypted wallet.

  7. bitcoin close to $90, better backup my usb dongle, this thing is worth some good cash now. I admit never imagined it will hit $90 this fast, nuts. Kicking myself for selling a large chunk at $15 just 6 months back.

Can bitcoin be shutdown by the US Government? If it's made illegal for transactions in the United States, will its value decline?

  10. It probably only goes up in value if the US makes it illegal. But it will shut down the transition of Mt gox to USA (through coinlab). I dont think this will happen though because as long as people pay tax on it (gains), I doubt they care too much. But it can't be shut down by the government; it is a p2p decentralized currency. It would be like trying to stop all torrents.

I also really doubt mt gox would do this coinlab transition if they thought they us gov was going to try and pull anything.
