Yeah I look forward to it. GPU is the way to go when doing pure number crunching. Seems particularly useful for analyzing trading strategies.
That is people who preferred to buy an expensive GPU (presumably for playing computer games) instead of sinking the extra $500 or so into a CPU like http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/xeon-x5680-5600-series-westmere-ep,2692.html
So bitcoins are under $4, how does that effect your mining operation?? Are you going to close down the gold er... bitmine???
Now $2. No wonder outfits like MF can do what they do - people will believe just about any line of crap, as long as the fantasy has them ending up rich.
Hm, my posted chart is actually updating.... Anyhow, was it possible to short bitcoins? I don't think so... The guy with the mining rig at least can play Skyrim nicely.
I think once the database at mtgox was hacked people lost confidence and the whole thing collapsed. Unfortunately I think there will have to be some government recognition to make the bitcoin concept work.
The current episode of Good wife (watching it right now) has bitcoin as its main topic. The Feds went after the supposed inventor for making an illegal currency, that is the storyline. Jim Cramer just made a cameo, playing a currency expert. He said it wasn't a currency, but the judge ruled otherwise later on... By the way the price of bitcoins has just increased by 200% since mid-November...
nah , a slow painful death is more like it price was near 30 when I posted this went to 2, now 5 . guess I was right again. yep. right again.
