Or momentum trading. Makes more money than dividend investing.

  2. There's no momentum if you're getting stopped out every time it pulls back LOL. I'm also pretty sure you're not returning 60%... And that's one of the lower yields.

You might be getting 60% but that's because your price is dropping. At the end of the year you'll have made 60% on divys and lost 60% of the value of the shares.
Plus you are paying tax on dividends greater than the tax on capital gains.

    jbusse and SunTrader like this.
  4. Wrong again! A chunk of my divs in TFSA. NAV is still positive. AND who cares about capital if you're getting 60%? That is part of the system to maintain high yields in low yield months. I do it manually selling premium... REMEMBER I came up with this system! The goal is constant cash. Within a year my initial investment has been paid back in dividends... Yet I'll continue to receive dividends.... And since the majority of my dividend stocks track Bitcoin, I'll also be collecting capital gains.

When Bitcoin was at 107k my portfolio was up 30%

Come on @SunTrader...don't be encouraging nonsense.

Then you are stuck with 15% withholding tax that you cannot get back.

I care about capital. It's the value of your portfolio at the end of the year that matters.
And how much is it up now that BTC is down from its high.

That they associate Bitcoin pricing with Trump is not good for the cryptocurrency -- it would imply that every up & down Trump has while in office over the next four years would be reflected in the price of Bitcoin -- which is far from optimal.

Bitcoin falls to lowest level since November as Trump rally loses steam in inauguration run-up

  7. Not if we become the 51st state lol...anyway there is a tax treaty and you can claim some back...we'll see. I'd rather make the money and pay the taxes. You sound like one of these investors who actually looks at mer and fees lol.

It's not up at all...just like if you are holding etfs. ???? You do understand that when the price goes down, the portfolio value goes down right?

Anyway, capital goes up and down constantly...just like the value of a house. All that matters is you keep getting rent. I hope bitcoin drops to 50k as its just another buying opportunity for even more dividends lol.

  8. ?? I don't understand your point? Price goes in cycles regardless of the "news" put out by talking heads...otherwise all you would have to do it read the headlines and make millions lol. You do understand that they make money from advertisers based on views right?

Should Bitcoin be tied to Trump the same way DJT is? Effectively becoming a meme trading vehicle reflecting the up & down fortunes of Donald Trump? Should the public perception in media headlines be constantly tying Bitcoin to Trump? Will the madness of crowds trading Bitcoin be tied to the MAGA supporters in mass buying & selling? Effectively becoming the equivalent of a Gamestop (GME) -- just a meme trading vehicle. Disconnected from reality but aligned with the madness of crowds.

You can't claim it back with a TFSA.
    Investing U.S. stocks in a TFSA isn't exactly tax-free
There's that credibility gap again, doesn't look like you have ever gotten a dividend or you would know about the withholding tax
I am not the least concerned about them. Buy high sell higher, don't hold losers in your portfolio. Nice steady uptrend on the equity curve.
Not if you are managing your portfolio correctly. When the market goes down, sit on your hands or short it. Where did you get this I have to ride it down BS?
What do you mean you hope? I thought you knew in advance where price was going. LOL
