You can long Ethereum without any moral reservations. Unlike Bitcoin it is environmentally friendly and actually decentralized.

ETH can be actually deflationary and you can earn rewards from fees for securing the network.

Money and energy is not wasted just to generate a random number.

The bad news is that in it's current state it's capabilities are just not up to par with the demand; simple swaps costing 100$ and could easily get in hundreds or maybe even a thousand dollars in times of high traffic.

But this is irrelevant in the context where people are pouring money into straight up ponzi schemes like Bitcoin.

The high gas fees won't matter to people FOMOing into ETFs.

Ethbtc has potential, but a bitcoin dump still presents danger to USD price. Where does Bitcoin stop? $90K? $85K? $70K?

    I have a question, seriously...

What kind of fees, and what would be an unofficial ballparked total of fees that would be incurred
by a US resident employing that type of periodic crypto investing strategy?

AFAIK, kracken and binance.us are the only LEGAL routes for a US resident.

No "buy an ETF" responses please.

    Thanks.
Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year to all!

Coinbase, eToro and Robinhood also allow crypto trading. A few others AFAIK.

Of the 3 you mention, only Robinhood is valid for a Crypto account allowing both deposits and withdraws in my state, Nevada.

RH fees AFAICT are 1.5% + network + whatever else. For small periodic (daily) purchases it's OK... I guess.

For small accumulation, there are a couple that works well, popular for stacking sats

    • Strike App and Cash App

I have used the Strike App and still have it but moved all the bitcoin to the Aqua Wallet App

The Aqua Wallet App has connectivity to mainnet and L2 Lightning and side chain Liquid bitcoin network, plus USDT for crypto $

The Strike App is a nice wallet, it allowed hybrid connectivity to bitcoin mainnet and the bitcoin Layer 2 Lightning, plus storage of US $ fiat

so you are able to send and receive using the Strike App without having to setup channels opening and closing and incur costs of network fees for migration from mainnet to L2 and vice versa

For some reason I could not get verified with the Cash App and gave up a long time ago...

Kraken and Gemini are also good for low fees. Coinbase Advanced trading platform has low fees

Apple Pay might be offering bitcoin, not sure if it's real bitcoin available for sending and receiving to outside addresses

PayPal is offering bitcoin as well, can stack sats that way, dunno how competitive their price and fees are

    Good luck and Merry Christmas!

Bitcoin is a life savings store of value asset, stacking sats is very much recommendable way to acquire for long term

I buy bitcoin on Kraken, Coinbase, Robinhood and Binance.us.
Cost on Kraken yesterday was about 1.5%.
    Not sure about the others.

Don't be fooled, the top is in.

If you get bounces above $100k, sell without hesitation.

If you are wondering why the price has stopped going up. Tether stopped printing 2 weeks ago. But i am sure it's just a coincidence!

  9. Not a coincidence at all. They need a bloody billion a day to maintain that shit afloat.
Can someone clever explain that to me? Frosty brotha, this is your chance.

  10. All you wankers acting all butt hurt...am I the only bullish one left? Do you guys think this rally is over???? We could literally still go off the chart.

    upload_2024-12-24_6-37-13.png

The problem is you guys are bullish when you should be bearish and bearish when you should be bullish!

This could pull back to 70k and still be in the post halvening uptrend. With bitcoin you have to think in terms of months and years...not days lol.
