If you want to promote other crypto assets, go for it. If you want to say you invested in other cryptos, go for it, but that has not been the tone of your posts lately

You've been full on attack on bitcoin with no mention of other cryptos you bought

I hold other cryptos in my portfolio. They carry a different risk/reward profile than bitcoin. As Raoul Pal described it, "going out the risk curve"

Like in the stock market, you can invest in Altria Group or you can invest in Zoom Video Communications, but you know all of these already

Hope you find your focus and conviction and diamond hands

    A little shit coin anecdote...

A friend mined a bunch of Doge years ago but then realized the power was costing him more than the value of the coins and stopped.

He forgot about it and went on with his life. He cruises the world on a large catamaran with his wife and a dog. He recently got Covid and had to quarantine in a hotel for a couple of weeks so he was rooting around looking at a bag of old thumb-drives.

He found his wallet with the Doge, 1.6 million of them worth (that day) $490k.

I've pretty much stopped laughing at alt coins.

I messed up not putting a couple of thousand $ on Doge that would be worth millions $ now

The thing is Doge was dead (very cheap) for a very long time and there are thousands of altcoins that were the same and are still dead

In hindsight, Doge had the best chance to moon as it did due to network effect explosion. It's very easy to understand and cheap to get their feet wet with cryptos for gen Z's to the WSB crowds to the retail investing crowd

@SimpleMeLike , you might want to consider monthly averaging into something other than SPY. You'll hit your retirement target sooner.

You will still get shitted on by all the bitcoin maximalists on there. "But BITCOIN IS blabla.."

Cryptos have pretty much no real use case. Bitcoin is expensive and slow to transact with and on top of that it pollutes the environment.
The only thing cryptos do at this point is they create wealth. Bitcoin hasn't done sh1t, but it made johnarb a millionaire.

There is nothing wrong with that. But keep it real, it's pure bullshit. The helicopter money has to land somewhere and it's going into the hands of crypto holders. And that's all it is.

Also ethereum "the world computer", single exchange(swap) on uniswap now costs 500$. Average price for sending an ERC20 token costs 200$ ("ethereum 2.0 yowww").
Blockchains are the slowest, most expensive and most inefficient databases in the entire world. The only advantage they have is the immutability.

Nonetheless cryptocurrencies are probably the greatest wealth creation tool in the history.

No. 1 Pick Cade Cunningham To Be Paid In Bitcoin Via Partnership With BlockFi

    Updated Aug 19, 2021, 01:29pm EDT

    TOPLINE

Cryptocurrency platform BlockFi announced Thursday it has agreed to a multiyear partnership with Cade Cunningham, selected by the Detroit Pistons with the No. 1 overall pick in the National Basketball Association’s 2021 draft, and that the rising star will receive his signing bonus from BlockFi directly in bitcoin.

    KEY FACTS
As part of the agreement, Cunningham will collaborate with BlockFi on educational videos, promotional giveaways, exclusive interviews and other efforts “to raise awareness about the value of cryptocurrencies.”

The financial details of the agreement have not been disclosed.

Cunningham, 19, said, “Many hardworking people still don’t have access to cost-efficient, reliable options to save and invest,” in a statement Thursday, adding he was drawn to cryptocurrencies due to “their ease of use, democratic and consensus underpinnings, and ability to evolve over time.”

    KEY BACKGROUND:
Cunningham, a gifted 6-foot-8 point guard, established himself as a future star as a freshman at Oklahoma State last season. He was named the Big 12 Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year after averaging 20.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.6 steals per game for the Cowboys. In late July, Cunningham inked a multiyear footwear and apparel endorsement deal with Nike. ESPN reported that the 19-year-old’s pact with Nike, negotiated by Excel Sports Management, was the highest value shoe deal among all 2021 NBA rookies. After the draft, Cunningham added another endorsement deal to his portfolio, joining energy supplement company Uptime as a brand ambassador. Cunningham, who is vegan, said the company “aligned” with his lifestyle. He has also signed an exclusive agreement with Panini America, the world’s largest licensed sports and entertainment collectibles company. Cunningham told CNBC last month that he hopes to emulate Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James’ success in basketball and business, stating that James serves as a role model for younger athletes. “Obviously, he’s a great basketball player, but the things he’s doing off the court—he’s changing mindsets in the community," Cunningham said.

    TANGENT:
BlockFi, which was founded in 2017 and named to Forbes’ Fintech 50 List in 2021, offers account holders crypto-collateralized loans at interest rates starting at 4.5%. BlockFi’s platform manages more than $15 billion in assets.

    CRUCIAL QUOTE:
“I’m not playing basketball just for fun anymore,” Cunningham told ESPN last month. “It’s a business now, and that’s the blessing of it. . . . Marketing myself, I want to be fully authentic with who I am. I don’t want to take any marketing deals that don’t match who I am.”

    BIG NUMBER:
$45.6 million. The Pistons announced on August 8 that Cunningham had signed his rookie contract and, with the NBA’s collectively bargained rookie scale locking in the value of contracts for first-round picks, Cunningham’s contract will be worth approximately $45.5 million over four years. He will earn $10.1 million during the 2021-22 season.

$50K target hit today, but I have changed my mind, will not sell 2 btc's as planned. I ended up adding 2 btc's a week ago in the $46K price

Reason for not selling now is to sell at $100K target before eoy and there is also no need for more cash. Admittedly, more derisking would be appropriate, but f it, yolo

Nice. It would have been a cooler story if you have bought some at $30K. Maybe you did, I have not been following the crypto threads much.
