Time has told See previous post from Sprout. Btc is the best performing asset of the decade by an enormous margin that may never get duplicated, unless it goes to 0 in the next 2 days It was an opportunity of a lifetime or many lifetimes. The story is still being written and I for one am still enjoying the ride. Happy New Year and may it be a Prosperous New Year for all the Crypto Digital Assets investors in 2020!!!
As I'm sure you realise , whether Bitcoin has been a good investment depends a great deal on when you bought , on it's way up I was a supporter and was within a couple of grand of calling the top ( check my posts),since then it hasn't been a good investment which I also called , suggesting a general downward trend with flurries of buying when there was some news etc , I don't feel I've been far off.
If you started buying bitcoin at the highest price of $20K in equal $ amount every week until now, you'd be in profits currently. I started buying when price was $100/btc in 2013 but it shot up to over $1,200 in early 2014 so my average cost was much higher, and for about 2 years of bitcoin bear market until mid-2016, my portfolio was under water in $ terms. I've since cashed out many times my investment $ amount and still holding with a sizable gain in $ amount. I'll tell you a secret, for all the talks of easy money and get-rich quick in bitcoin, the trick for many of the believers is to buy and hodl.
Agreed. When one understands the ‘why’ of BTC, DCA hodl is a simple and effective strategy against the abuses of censorship and central bank fiat policy.
There's nothing more to be said to you, henry76. Bitcoin is back above $7300, but what's the point? You're still hung up on the short term price moves and I already explained to you buy and hold was my strategy for cryptos investing and it has worked for me and others. Anyway, don't invest in bitcoin and be content with your other investments/trading and continue posting here even if you have no financial stake in bitcoin, seems to me a waste of time but whatever. Just for the record, last year you said this, can you quantify the level of your mistaken call? "I don't think btc will be going up a lot anytime soon , in quite times ( in terms of news ) it will slowly sink with small bounces at newsworthy levels/ events .i.e. like a new low for x periods etc but generally downward , probably to very low levels where it's only value(in time) is as some sort of relic/antique."
