Isn't it ironic that I can purchase 5 ounces of gold for less than 1 bitcoin, but no one can purchase bitcoin directly using gold? (no thanks, I'd rather keep my bitcoins) https://www.apmex.com/faq/how-to-pa...-apmex#what-form-of-payment-does-apmex-accept
No not ironic. Why should someone who has gold wish to switch to bitcoins? He holds gold as he does not want to have bitcoins.
You missed my point. I was specifically responding to his post listing the gold's value in $ vs bitcoin's value in gold weight being 0, and yet bitcoin can be exchanged for gold but not the other way around. For Pete's sake, I even cut out all the other sentences!
There was some shit going on with Litecoin and the Bcash people were really up against it on Reddit. Kind of funny when these "my cult is better than your cult" kind of arguments erupt, specially when LTC has been way more usable than BTC. And for god's sake if you dare to cash out, you are a traitor.
I actually should not have added the comments about not buying gold with bitcoin as I may do so in the future (almost pulled the trigger on 10 ounces when bitcoin was higher, but...)
It is official, you can't buy Reddit Gold with Bitcoin anymore: https://themerkle.com/reddit-drops-bitcoin-support-for-gold-purchases/
