Its far from mainstream buddy. Go buy a pack of gum at the corner deli with bitcoin. I guarantee the keys will be compromised way before you can buy that gum.
thats for retards and people who dont know what they are talking about, noone would ever brute force a key.
"Hackers" don't own quantum computers. It is a bit pointless to spend $100s of millions and decades of effort to steal someone's bitcoin keys worth a few mil. And after the first few such steals (and most probably, quite a bit before that), the encryption of keys will increase in difficulty. Encryption can scale exponentially while computing power doesn't.
So you are not just trolling the Crypto posters, you are trolling the whole forum. I can do the same thing, fucker. Here. Take a knee and fly back to Reddit and.or (that other forum).
anything could happen ; - hackers generate new BTC through don't-know-what mining process - CEO goes India and die - BTC reaches 100 000 and Elon closes his position to take profit, NOT take loss !!! ...
Many here do not understand the in-depth theory about quantum physics or quantum computer. Forget about quantum computers, they are highly unstable and unlikely to be stable in the near future. But if a real quantum computer exists, we are not only talking about bitcoin here, all current encryptions in the world would be crackable, including banking systems, password protected government secrets, top secret encrypted communications, HTTPS, basically everything secret(encrypted) will no longer be a secret. Bitcoin is the least to worry about if a real quantum computer exists.
GameStop mania lasted 2 weeks. Tulip Mania lasted a year. Bitcoin has been averaging 300%+ a year for 10 years and that includes two 80% moves down which then recovered and increased their adoption with each recovery and volatility lowered. They aren't comparable
