  3. Trump might run, if he can sell a major network turning that run for the presidency into a reality TV show for which he gets paid.

I watched Michele Bachmann in an interview on MSNBC, and they asked her if she was going to run for president.

She, like the other politicians, refused to answer the question direclty, only saying that she and her "family" would make a decision later this year, and would run if it were the right thing to do.

Like morons, the MSNBC hosts did not ask the appropriate and direct question of "What will determine if running for president is the right thing to do Congresswoman Bachmann."

I swear, the follow up question is rarely used these days, and is a key to going deeper with a guest. It need not be contentious, but when someone is vague and says they will decide if it is the right thing to do, what excatly do they mean by that?

Does Bachmann need to have God speak to her? Does she have to start speaking in tongues? Is it about having enough money to run? At least be honest Ms. Bachmann...

  6. elsewhere on the net..........

Obama is a citizen of the United States because his mother was a citizen - that is not at issue. The issue is whether he is a NATURAL BORN CITIZEN - meaning, born on the soil of the United States or having two parents who are both citizens. His father was not a citizen at the time of his birth, so he would have to have been born here to qualify.

Back in the sixties, anyone could request a certificate of live birth when a child was born. Obama's certificate was issued to an address matching that of his grandparents at the time. SO, the theory goes that he was born outside the United States and his grandparents requested the certificate, which generated the notifications that went to the papers.

Donald Trump is trying to figure out if this is what happened. If it turns out that this is correct, Obama is not elligible to be president, plain and simple.

    .................................

The fact that Obama was adopted by Indonesian Lolo Soetoro in the 1970s, and his name was legally changed to Barry Soetoro at that time, is most likely the reason he is spending millions of dollars to hide his birth certificate. He never filed the papers to change his name back to “Barack Hussein Obama, Jr.”, so any birth certificate produced by the state of Hawaii would list him as “Barry Soetoro”.

Being born here does not necessarily make you are natural born citizen. The definition has not been determined.

Some argue that the traditional definition is being born on US soil and having two american parents.

Obama supporters try to argue it just means being born here.
The Supreme court may have to decide.

    Time travel alert!:

OK, call me stupid, but how a namechange at 10 would also change the name on his BC? His BC shows the name what he was given when well, he was born...

Random facts: He was never officially adopted by his stepfather. (thus no name change back needed)

And before an idiot cries here: He used Soetoro when enrolling in school in Indonesia, but that doesn't prove or mean an official adoption. Clear now?

If you read the Constitution it states quite clearly “No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligibilie to the Office of President.” Washington was a Citizen at the time of the Adoption of the Constitution so he did not have to qualify for the natural born citzen part. The founding fathers were pretty clear in what they intended whether we follow it is another matter. I think that the most important point is that no Court, not even the Supreme Court is going to unseat a President on a legal challenge after he is sworn in. People are going to have start taking civic lessons again or something. Once Obama took that oath, he is the President, and only Congress can change that. The last time I check Congress seemed pretty happy he was elected. If this stuff is going to be challenged it has to be before the guy spends a billion dollars, an enitre nation votes, and he takes the oath of office. It is not doomsday because he got elected. The Republic will survive. Chester Arthur was not a “natural born citizen” and the Rebulic survivied. It will survive this time as well. I suggest everyone stop making fun of Arizona and follow their example in establishing some clear guidelines on establishing eligibility. Then you won’t have these rediculous problems or very brave and very misguided officers going to jail for trying to do the right thing. I really feel sorry for that guy Lakin, but no Judge, civil or military, is going to give him discovery into Obama’s BC. You guys on the left should be more curious about your own people and you guys on the right should take a deep breath and relax. President Obama is not the end of the world. If you don’t like him, vote for somebody else next time. (sorry for getting preachy.)
