the bottom line is, why is it the govts job to decide what 'preventive care ' is. Why stop at birth control, its all so stupid and shall we say... political. I think govt is overstepping their bounds here big time. Its kind of scary if you think about it.
Yeah whats up with that? Is it a cultural thing? I would feel totally responsible and would support any progeny without prompting. Is that a completely outdated world-view?
the right wing mind is a scary thing. here we have a chance to spend maybe 100 per year and prevent an expensive welfare child that could cost 20k a year and you scream socialism. at the same time the republicans refused to stop oil companies subsidies in the debt fight.
You are totally wrong in all your assumptions. As I pointed out, this is a benefit for well-off liberal women, not welfare mothers. Also, you actually have to take the pills for them to work, a skill most welfare mothers can't seem to master. But hte real objection is not to birth control fro anyone, but to a government official dictating what private insurance companies must cover and what they may charge for it. If you force them to subsidize this, then they will have to get it from somewhere else. Of course, obama doesn't really mind, since his objective is to make private insurance so expensive and unwieldy that people clamor for government-run socialized medicine.
Bingo. Now the ball is in the insurance companies hands. They may allocate the costs anywhere they wish.
birth control isnt all folks. they get their vaginas and breasts checked under 'preventive care' once per year at NO COST, no deductible, no copay! yeah, us guys get to pay for the vag check every year! and did i mention free breast pumps! this is all true. either obama has a vagina, OR he will do anything for the female vote OR both.
nothing new. it only bothers you right wingers because the obama administration proposed it. every insurance company is already mandated to minimum standards. your state mandates that all auto insurance plans sold in your state have minimum payments.
