Bips or Beeps?

Having a disagreement with folks at work as to whether "Bps" is referred to as "bips" or "beeps"?

or just basis. However if PVBP or other, just price value basis

 

Wouldn't people just spell it as it is? B-P-S?

 

They do. But I've heard folks call them verbally "beeps" and "bips". I was just curious if there was a consensus. But it does not appear there is.

 

It's like the pronunciation of "meme" and "gif", I suppose, everyone has their own version.

Then google 'bps bips.'
Note and compare the number of results.
