It may come as a surprise to some, td3 included, that there is support for those that know right from wrong. This is why many decent people took large personal risks to make sure the good guys won as in the recent USA versus Soviets confrontation. If the USA stoops to the low level of murderers then there is little difference between them, and a new dark age is likely to be whoever finally wins the conflict. Td3 might be some sorta gung-ho trigger happy man but one hopes he and his fellow ignorant lot will find out the differences before too long. One lives in hope !!
Its over. No one has heard the exact details as the adm. keeps changing the story which has created suspicion, so we may never know what really happened. And from what I have been told about Seal operations,we'll never know. So, we have to take their word for it. Anything fom DC, I take with a grain of salt.
I'm just wondering how some of you heroic critics would have dealt with OBL after engaging in a firefight, and when he did not freeze after being confronted. Maybe you'd be feeling luck that things had gone well thus far and would not shoot to kill, thereby risking the possibility that he might activate a little jihad strap-on that he may or may not have had hidden underneath his clothing. You would have no way of knowing ahead of time. All you knew for certain is that he was well aware of an attack on his compound for at least several minutes prior to his being confronted, and that he did not stop moving when he was confronted. Feeling lucky? I think it's fascinating that some of the very people who were out for blood from the get-go after 9/11, and especially after he took "credit" for the atrocity in subsequent videos, are now outraged that OBL was not greeted with a warm cup of cocoa upon a courteous apprehension.
While there appears to be some discrepancy about the nature of the firefight, there appears to be no discrepancy that there indeed was one. Are you suggesting that OBL of al-Qaeda would have gently acquiesced upon confrontation, and that the other adult males in the compound would have met the SEALS with lamb and ghee-soaked rice, and other culinary delights? Do you need to see the long form special ops report? And, if so, what other papers from the president must you see before you are suitably satisfied and willing to accept the success of this long-awaited conclusion?
And the authorities never personally consulted you for your insight in the matter in all that time? Shocking.
Like I said, you don't what happened and neither do I. All else are opinions. Yours is as equally worthless as mine is.
I don't know. Why would you be? The most wanted terrorist was finally killed and your posts are rather less than celebratory. Not that they need be celebratory. But that the long-awaited event is met with question and criticism is most interesting. Just curious. If some people here didn't want him dead, then why was there no uproar on their part at the time that Bush announced he wanted OBL dead or alive? How did all these dissidents manage to suppress their outrage all these years with nary a peep?
