Enough of the taxes, we have been taxed multiple times on the same money. We are taxed when we earn, we are taxed again when we spend (on the money that has been taxed earlier), then whatever is left will be taxed again when we pass on to our loved ones. Millennials are so brainwashed by the social media and socialists propaganda. These people could not think a few layers further than what they were fed onto by the social media. Thank god we have Trump and hopefully things will change. If your wealth is going to be taken away, there's no incentive to innovation, business, technological advancement, medical advancement, and so on. No incentive for anything. The only thing the people will do is sit at home and wait for the money to be banked into their account each month. (not for long).
As a foreign observer of US politics, I hope you're right about the 1% probability of election. But as its Elizabeth Warren we're talking about, she could be useful to the US in foreign affairs. She could claim Danish ancestry and solve the whole Greenland issue that way. Or Korean, and make friends there too. Or Iranian...................
So you are saying there IS a chance? If Warren's chances are the same as Trump's were 4 years ago, well, we know how that story turned out.
Warren isn't going to win. But I will say that if trump loses the next election the market will go into a free fall!!
Agree you never know, but she isn't winning. And to forgive billions in student loans is quite unfair to individuals like myself where I paid my fair share of payments over the course of a decade plus. I know someone who took out $150,000 in loans, they have a great job paying nearly 6 figures and they pay about $250 a month which just covers the interest. Another person I know took out about $14,000 in loans about 8 years ago and has never once put a payment towards what they owe...that payment now is north of $20,000 and they have absolutely no interest in paying any of it. They make about $50,000 a year.
Gaussian, you make some great points. You sound like a smart guy, certainly very insightful. The Boomer thing though, try not use such a wide brush. For every Boomer who's done whatever it is that gives you heartburn regarding them, I can show you a Millennial that is in fact lazy, and that thinks they are somehow entitled to a certain standard of living for which they should not have to work hard to earn. And there's another thing about many Millennial's, ....and I know plenty.... they have no sense of national pride. No loyalty to this country. Its hard to put a finger on what I'm referring to... but its like so many of them just take what they have for granted. As trite as this sounds.... World War 2 wasn't that long ago. The entire country pitched in and sacrificed everything in their lives. 500,000 gave their lives. They weren't forced to really, they did it because they loved our nation. Somehow I don't think that attitude exists anymore. Anyway... you make some good points but just remember... using too broad a stroke and making sweeping generalizations that demean an entire generation is probably below what you're capable of. jmho
