    Barney Frank on a panel?

Talk about garbage. The only thing surprising is that they still have actual people in the audience and not a laugh machine.

One religion bashing another. In this case, Atheists versus Christians. And yes, Atheism is a religion (the belief in *nothing*).

I'm a Christian (a bad one), and rarely give atheists a thought. Separation of Church and State is important. We live in a Constitutional Republic. Not a religious theocracy. Imposing Judeo-Chrisitian morality beyond the consent of another human being (Libertarianism), is wrong, imo. The State has no place outlawing gay marriage, drug use, prostitution, gambling etc. These are consensual activities between one or more people. It's their body, let them do as they please. The spiritual consequences are between the individual and God. We all have to face God at the end of our lives, and that's really up to the individual to take responsibility for that. Not the State. Of course, atheists don't believe in God and Judgement, so in their world, it doesn't apply.

What upsets me is the rise of the occult, white and black magic, new age spirituality.

  8. Atheism is a rejection in a god belief and is not a belief in nothing. It would be like saying not believing in bigfoot is a religion. That's just circular BS talking points put out there by the leaders of the church. The rest of what you wrote I'm OK with. Well the first part I'm OK with too but you're wrong on what atheist means.

No, I'm afraid you're mistaken. The belief there is no God, is still a belief. It requires faith. And by it's very definition, is another form of religion.

Rejecting a God belief, or holding fast to a belief there is no God, is the same thing. Rewording the premise to sidestep thorny philosophical implications is somewhat ridiculous?

  10. I guess I'm also in the not believing in Bigfoot religion also and the not believing in the tooth fairy religion and the not believing in a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow religion too. By your defination they are all religions. As far as ridiculous goes believing in the childish stories of the bible is ridiculous. Living in a fish, men living hundreds of years, a "loving" god, hell, virgin birth all ridiculous.
