Bill Gross....once great (and lucky), is now disgraced. That happens a lot when you have an ego uncontrolled. Stem your ego's boys, and you'll be honored AND you will succeed. That's the best outcome. One who comes to mind is Eric Bowling. Wow, this guy was a phenomenal oil trader....with a smokin hot wife. He made his multiple millions in a few years and now he is in a low-risk profession as a Fox commentator. Sadly, Bill could not do that. Sorry Bill...you are a disgrace.

Technically yes... i believe the low was in 1980....still making new highs in price (lows in yields)...
Yeah well looking ahead I know what a 1% raise in rates will do to my bond fund with an average duration of 7 years, and it aint pretty. Most have gone to shorter duration. I like BND and just hedge with cash.
And if Eric inherited Gross's personality, then he would kill himself. It's not just about the amount of money you know. Once you have enough, why ruin yourself trying for more ?
Of course you are correct... I'd rather be rich and awesome than super rich and a piece of shit... but then we don't get the Steve Jobs/Bill Gross' of the world... or at least maybe less of them... and maybe that's a good thing?
