Anyone who thinks that Gates has not already provided some sort of trust for his kids is out right crazy...... His kids will never have to work another day if they so choose...

  2. Only problem with your thesis is that scarce resources is an artificial concept.

UNTIL 2000, ZIMBABWE WAS the breadbasket of Africa, exporting wheat, tobacco, and corn to the rest of the continent and beyond. Zimbabwe contains the most fertile farmland on the continent, and until recently was a tourist Mecca, home of Victoria Falls, one the seven natural wonders of the world, and numerous game reserves, now nearly emptied by poachers and starving peasants. The newly independent country had yet more advantages, including excellent transportation and banking systems for its agricultural, mining, and tourism industries

I'm so tired of people calling Buffett and Gate's givings a PR stunt. No, it's not. Giving a 100 million dollars is a PR stunt. Giving over half your fortune, is not a PR stunt.

  4. I find it very hypocritical that a man like him spends his whole life attaining wealth through capitalism, and at times playing dirty to maintain that wealth sometimes putting someone else out of business, then say at the end of his life he wants that wealth spread around like a socialist because he thinks that much money would ruin someone else.

Bill Gates is like a kid who will break his favorite toy, just so another kid cant have fun with it. First class asshole if you ask me.

  5. I have to agree with most of the posts here - it sounds like a bunch of liberal B.S. to try and get attention or something.

It would appear he plans to give poor people "fish" instead of teaching them how to fish. Giving every poor person for example even $100,000 would do no good because then having $100,000 would mean you were poor. The worst thing a guy like Gates could do with alot of money after he dies is just having an organization that "helps" people, but is really just hand out city.

Why not give alot of it to the kids? - maybe one of them would start a great business that would end up employing 500,000 Americans or something. He must think he kids are losers who would blow the money, but so what? I'd even rather see his kids blow the money on expensive wasteful junk then to just give another pair of Nike shoes to some kid who refuses to ever work for a day in their life.

Or, why not just give a gift to the IRS and let every good middle class taxpayer get about a $500 break one year (of course that's kind of the fish thing again, but at least it would be rewarding hard working middle class people instead of lazy, give me hand outs, poor people).

I agree with this one. Good businessman does not equal a good father or even a decent human being. This joker (Gates) always has an ulterior motive.

Can you do math? What is 100M compared to 45B? Duh!!!

Can you say "drop in a bucket?" I knew you could!:D

Liberal Gates and his liberal buddy Warren have lost touch with reality just like many others with billions would do.

Gates and Buffet have people begging to wipe their asses for a few bucks.

Soooo, 100M, a big deal? Nope! Do some math my Friend!

That amount keeps them in good graces with their socialsit in chief Odumba!

Let me help you a little. 100M is 10% of a billion dollars. You call that half of their fortune????!?!?!?!? Do you know how many BILLIONS the liberal, out of touch ass holes are worth? Hello!!!!!!!! Welcome to ignore if you cannot do SIMPLE math!

  9. May be his kids will see to that his charities are put to good use. Sad to say, many charities are wasteful scams enriching those who manage them.

I read somewhere that life expectancy was around 38 years old for women in Zimbabwe lately. I don't know much about the advantages Mugabe brought, but the country was in much better shape before their revolution.
