Bill Gates' Tesla short

Gates is stuck in the middle. He cant really interfere with his manager's trades, unless he has a really strong reason to.
The manager is thinking in a prolonged bear market TSLA will be one of the stocks to correct the most, providing a really good bear market hedge.Also TSLA is not going to be the only short position they have.

 

I still think Musk is justified in being pissed and thinks Gates is being a hypocrite.

what the fuck does the stock have to.do with the earth? If you short tsla you are clubbing baby seals?

Musk is making a product which doesnt use gasoline but what about all the rubber and plastic inside the car?? What about the electricity to run it?

it’s because Elon wants free speech for everyone and bill gates wants to put 5G in everyone’s veins with the phony vaccine.

 

You've been around here much longer than I. And I already know that people around here can be that dumb. Many of them even dumber.

 

Nothing wrong with shorting TSLA or any other stock, provides liquidity for those who want to be long, and will provide support at the lows when the shorts cover.

Not to mention the short squeezes that push the price up when the shorts get it wrong. A profitable short trade on TSLA is a lot harder to pull off than going long.

Gate's TSLA short only worked out cause it was part of his hedging strategy, as a standalone short trade they would probably have closed it out for a loss sooner, or not even taken it at all.

 

You know they can be. My old reliable stand-by...And he managed to became a Prime Minister!

 

if your goal is to short a mega cap growth stock as an interest rate trade then Tesla is probably the best.

 

Funny how traders can't help but talk in hindsight. All the Tesla bears and haters think of themselves as superstars for having called the drop/crash 3 years late. Gates was short when TSLA was going to the moon. He just happened to have the cash to cover his bad calls and the luck to watch the stock drop while still short.

If I'm learning anything about trading and investing is that it's all based on timing. Even the shorts will start buying when bottom's been found.

 

Why is he so damn concerned about what others are doing when HE himself is selling his own shares?????????
