Used to be for civil rights activists...groundbreaking heros in new fields...high level politicians or judges... Now look back over last 5 presidents..... random athletes and singers or friends...
Exactly. It's a bullshit, hero worship, everyone gets a trophy mentality. Whatever it used to mean has been diminished to a point where it is now meaningless. Has its virtue signaling value in this case.
