We were staying on Ohau some years ago when a storm hit (it was in Jan, I think) . We were at the JW Marriot and the storm blew the electric out. One of the workers at the hotel said he had never seen anything like it. Next day we went up to north shore and watched these surfers get towed on jet skis out to the big waves. I swear those waves looked 50 feet high.
