Has the P ever hidden his feelings about race? Now multiply that times x amount of registered Republicans. This is no big secret....or some revelation.
No, it's neither a revelation nor a secret. just some awful strategic positioning. The GOP sees race through the "black' prism only. and "Black" in a very diminutive sense Ghetto/ rappers/ Sharpton. Bush, actually, was quite smart about that. Remember the SOB's theme about "The big tent." and Ricky Martin's concerts He attracted some massive Latino vote, but his base screwed up everything with the immigration debate. So he's not as stupid as he looks, or Rove made him see it What they don't get is they can't rule forever using the old formula, Demographic forces are making it quaint. Anyway, politics are fascinating. if I were not into trading, I'd be doing some political strategizing.
You certainly have a knack for it. I especially like the "dirty Republican trash" comments you come up with. How do engage in such refined, critical thinking? Is it, silk smoking jacket, pipe, slippers by the fire? Or do you do the Bill Ayers, sneakers, sweatshirt / pipebomb method? Political strategist, my ass. Like calling Hitler a community organizer.
Before you get all warm and fuzzy about Larry Summers it was he who while at Harvard wanted to eliminate index futures and options trading after the 1987 crash and at the time proposed a transaction tax. His remarks received a lot of play from Ed Markey who chaired some hearings critical of program trading.
I really do enjoy healthy debate and intellectual head butting. politics is a contact sport. But I have these red lines I don't like to cross. When I deem someone psychologically vulnerable, I step back. out of decency. I'm competitive and argumentative, not mean. and I think you kinda meet that threshold. so.... I can't reply to you.
If the Dems ever enact anything close to a trading tax. They'd lose my support forever. I'll spend the rest of my life campaigning against them I only heard about Larry Summers during the Clinton administration and he seemed like a pretty hands-off guy. He has a big mouth and runs into trouble sometimes (while prez @ Harvard, said sthg to the effect that Women are genetically impaired from being good at math/science) I thought he was right. But would never say so in public
