Just recollecting from memory. At approx. 3:13 p.m. on Feb 4, 2003, there was a big spike in s & P e mini. The ES was trading at approx. 847, and in a nano second it jumped (spiked up) approx 25 full points (100 ticks). I am not kiddin. Thank goodness I had just got out of my short position. Without knowing much, some one must have fat fingured, my guess would by being long some big size (My guess would be in the tune of 10,000 contracts or more--just a guess again). I remember it trading around 868, before recovering back to earth at 848 or so. I guess CME put a cap at 860 on this spike. Does any one what happened and the role of CME in this issue.
