Sadly crypto regulation that's about to kill whole swaths of industry. It's why infra bill is corporate preferred because in this case, financial lobbies get their money's worth choking the competition
Pfft, she'll lose the House by a wide margin and is risking the Senate & presidency over a bill that will be more widely known over what was taken out than what was left in.
Youre right and wrong. The senate and house are baked in loses. The only thing that can truly help democrats in 2022 is Donald Trump. If Trump is big in the cycle the democrats have a chance. As to BBB the American people certainly do not like the way the democrats are going about the bill. The tone and the back and forth intramurally is off putting. But at the end of the day the democrats should just be democrats and push forward where they can. Too many “progressives” think they can force moderates into their agenda instead of actually respecting the moderates votes. The progressives are not winning the negotiations and are turning foul. That’s the biggest obstacle to BBB. Too much crying and not enough actual negotiation and messaging. I forget the other Senators name from NY today, not Schumer, she’s putting in the actual work on paid leave but she is not attacking other democrats in public.
Let's make something clear, the base are with the progs on this one (as can be attested by most polls on the provisions), the progs (who have +20 in the House) did not sink this bill, 2 conservative senators did. The progs did not back track on the original agreement on BBB voting, two senators forced the issue (though I'm not sure the old guard wasn't in favor of it). It's high time we call a spade a spade, instead of hijacking vocabulary to spin cons as "moderates".
The provisions of the broader BBB are very popular and make a lot of sense. And that is my point. There’s too much personal attacks on Manchin and others and not enough messaging. The public personal attacks is what is killing the agenda.
kid gloves. Not calling out their corruption is what makes them have leverage. Not telling their constituents how they're bought and paid for, and are not looking for their interests is what keeps them in power and unincentivized to change their mind.
Well, isn't this interesting??? https://www.foxnews.com/politics/pelosi-district-park-200m-probed-gop-senator
GQP & Manchin during CARES corporate bailout: "Inflation isn't a thing" GQP & Manchin during BBB people bailout: "OMG, inflation" Progs: "but you said if we passed infra...." MSM: "LOL, ramp up the inflation stories"
I saw Ken Langone on TV yesterday. This guy is what America is all about. Born in the middle of the Depression to dirt poor immigrant parents in NY. Worked his ass off. Founded Home Depot, made billions, now he gives it away. The Harlem Children's Zone. https://hcz.org/ Set up tuition free Med School for minorities at NYU.... $100 million there.... The dude is the quinessential American imo. 86 years old and he's sharp as a tack. He might as well be a 55yo CEO of a Fortune 100 when you hear him speak. He's that sharp. He's also a huge donor to the GOP. So what's my point. Yesterday he said he's gonna throw the biggest fund raiser WV has ever seen for Joe Manchin. Said the man is "saving our country". Coming from Ken Langone, anyone with 1/2 a brain should take note of that.
