I disagree. I think Biden is talking about some very issues that are unique to American policing. The police in America are overly relied on for mental health services and social services. Or at least they are the first point of contact and have to deal with it. This is a problem. Police are trained to police and in America police are trained to police in a country where anyone can have a gun. So these situations can turn bad and eat up resources that should be focused on stopping crime and building safe communities (yes, building safe communities is a part of policing). Bringing in funds dedicated for mental health issues and social service issues will help ensure those matters are handled better, ie cops don’t shoot someone in a mental health crisis or people who are something like domestic violence victims can get immediate services and coordinate with police to make sure victim isn’t revictimized. In short, more funding for the police doesn’t always translate to more police.
He is an irritating toadstool too. He says "not a joke" after everything. Usually it is ridiculous too. Look folks, there a lots of children in our schools today, no really, not a joke. And when I was young my mother used to say, no not a joke, I am serious. Fucking idiot. Put a pie in his face. Dems got the message that their lawlessness, defunding of police, out of control crime are a major, major negative for them at midterms so they are running like chickens with their heads cut off trying to convince voters that they are the party of law and order and police support. No seriously, not a joke, number one not a joke, number two as my father used to say Joey a job's more than just a paycheck and number four I am not going to shut down the economy I am going shut down the virus, no seriously not a joke. We are all going to die with that idiot in office.
