Is this not left in your opinion? IMO this is a pretty leftist agenda, and theres more but I can only upload 10 images per post.I ask because a lot of people makes the same statement, going to far left lower the chances of an election victory but this leftest agenda got the most votes in Presidential and House of Representatives history.
In our ideal world we would achieve all of the things you and I would like to see come to pass. Biden has to operate in the real world of U.S. politics as it is, not as we would want it to be. In this real world, we can be absolutely convinced that our views are correct and even reflect a strong majority; yet the reality of our gerrymandered and paid for politics makes majority views on some issues irrelevant. Our choice was Biden or Trump. We made the best choice from our point of view. Having done that, it is good to express dissatisfaction when Biden does something you don't like. Just be sure you correctly understand his position, as he more often than not is misrepresented by right wing lunatics. We don't know what Joe said to Sinema and Manchin behind closed doors, we only know what Biden, Manchin and Senima said publicly. I personally would like to see both Sinema and Manchin spit roasted, but I doubt Sleepy Joe would go along with that. Nevertheless after four years of a sociopath criminal in the White House I am happy, overjoyed actually, to see a truly moral person in the Oval Office. On "Defund the Police" and Policing Reforms, Biden's position is quite nuanced: [https://www.cnn.com/factsfirst/politics/factcheck_3c1cfaf5-b7ab-4712-a346-4f591e721b92] Biden's published criminal justice plan called for a $300 million investment in community policing efforts -- including the hiring of more officers. On June 8, Biden told CBS, "No, I don't support defunding the police." Rather, he said, "I support conditioning federal aid to police based on whether or not they meet certain basic standards of decency and honorableness. And, in fact, are able to demonstrate they can protect the community and everybody in the community." It's worth noting that the slogan "defund the police" means different things to different activists -- from the dissolution of police forces to partial reductions in funding. Trump's campaign has seized on a single comment Biden made to progressive activists in a July video chat. In that conversation, Biden repeated his opposition to defunding police. When pressed, he did say he "absolutely" agrees that some funding can be redirected to social services, mental health counseling and affordable housing, but he immediately transitioned to his previous proposal to deny federal funding to specific police departments that do not meet certain standards. Biden said in early June that decisions about funding levels should be made by local communities, since some have too many officers, but some don't have enough. On Student Loan Forgiveness: [https://fortune.com/education/busin...tudent-loans-heres-what-policy-insiders-say/] So far, student loan forgiveness has gone to targeted groups of borrowers including people with disabilities, those students who were defrauded by their higher education institutions, and certain borrowers who work in public service. Student loan payments have also been paused for all federal borrowers since March 2020 under the CARES Act, but those are set to start again come May. As far as i am aware the above paragraphs in italics fairly state Biden's views. With regard to police reform, I personally would like to see the end of "Qualified Immunity." From my point of view the Supreme Court, not Biden, has been the culprit when it comes to being too soft on police brutality. In at least two cases, the Court has reversed lower court decisions in favor of plaintiffs bringing suit against police for excessive force. The police recently lost a case in the Appeals Court, but The Supreme Court denied Certiorari and ordered the Appeals Court ruling vacated, ruling instead in favor of the police on the basis of qualified immunity. One of these High Court rulings was 20-1690 CORTESLUNA, RAMON V. RIVAS-VILLEGAS, DANIEL, ET AL. In another case, (can't recall the name) a hammer wielding suspect was shot dead. Again, the High Court ruled in favor of the Police. Because of the way qualified immunity statutes read they are difficult to challenge. Democrats have made several attempts to limit or get rid of qualified immunity. The George Floyd Policing Act would have placed restrictions on "qualified immunity", but the bill failed to make it through both houses. Efforts to revise or eliminate qualified immunity have been initiated by Democrats. The main opposition has come from Republicans, of course .
I meant his trouble with speech does not seem to me to have spilled over into his reasoning ability. He is clearly not senile.
That's a clever point but not a very good one. You are arguing that losing the confidence of the public is worse than being consistently reviled!
You do not like Biden. Thus, is it safe to assume that your decision to not vote for him in 2024 is because you also didn't vote for Biden in 2020 ? Therefore, did you vote for Trump in 2020 or did you not vote at all because you disliked them both ? wrbtrader
