To AK, I called you out. You are the reincarnation of stock_trad3r/bearice. Keep up the good work! I am a registered Democrat. My prior voting history has been Clinton, Gore, Bush, Obama. So I like to think that I'm open minded. I am also a Catholic. The Democrats seem to be trumpeting abortion nowadays. It's a real turnoff, so I have been leaning Republican more and more. With that said, my first reaction was that Biden won the debates huge. He came off as a huge douchebag, but that didn't factor too much into my equation because everyone was expecting him to do stupid shit. However, about an hour after the debate, I was thinking it was more of a tie. Biden was aggressive but Ryan held his own, at times. As of right now I'm thinking Ryan won outright. Biden was just being a jackass and bully. I was least impressed with his answer on Benghazi. Biden spoke prominently but I question the substance. Ryan did outstanding considering Biden is far more of an experienced debater and he was being a dick to throw Ryan off his game. Both candidates made mistakes. Ryan set himself up for a few zingers from Biden. I have to agree with Ryan's response to the abortion question. Biden tipped his hand when he spoke about picking Supremes that won't overturn Roe v. Wade. His answer was that exact same one that turned me off from voting for Kerry. When will Democrats learn to abandon the Planned Parenthood lobby and join Republicans in not supporting abortion. The pro-abortion crowd or whoever they're catering too aren't going to vote Republican and they'll pick up a lot more moderates.
He got off to a shaky start, but hit his stride later in the debate. He was at his best when he was pointing his finger and speaking emphatically about Romney's 47% remarks.
Ryan believes human life begins at conception and that any abortion is killing a child, BUT it's OK to kill a child in the case of rape. Pretty damn week beliefs there. I know Ryan isn't for abortion and he lied to stay inline with Romney on this issue.
I half agree with you. He did not say it was ok. But he did compromise his beliefs to stay inline with Romney. It was not because of weak beliefs. I'm pretty sure he believes that abortion in any case is murder. Biden probably believes this too but he won't admit it.
It's possible that Biden may have won the debate. That doesn't necessarily mean that he is the best candidate. No matter the candidate's position or party, I'd have trouble voting for someone who performed like him.
The content of what biden had to say (for the little I could watch due to his smirking, laughing and idiotic facial expressions) wasn't too bad. Crazy old joe came off as a complete douche bag. Arrogant, just like obama.
Biden was Biden. What do you expect? He's a used car salesman who have no idea of how silly he looks. Ryan let opportunities slip away. Bidens first answer on Libya was 20 seconds of the administration line and then 2 minutes on Iraq and Afganistan. That wasn't the question. So what does Ryan do? He too spends most of his time talking about Iraq and Afganistan. WTF? He hand an opportunity to gut Biden right out of the gate and didn't. When you have an opportunity to knock a guy out, you do it. When you don't, you're the loser. Bottom line...60/40, Biden over Ryan. Man up Paul, this is the big time.
I agree. Biden Obama are a perfect pair. ---------------- Ryan gets my vote. Ryan sounded like he did his homework, takes his job serious and would have the respect of other members of Congress. As far as the moderators last question on sleezy campaign tactics. simple, sleeze works in todays culture, that's why it's done. I though Ryan was very respectful to Biden, class act.
