In my experience with my ecological perspective I've come to realize that everyone reacts to the impossibility of our Predicament differently. Mr. Mits, politicians, influencers, celebrities, everyone. There is no wrong reaction... because it's a predicament, and those have no solutions.
It's not about a wrong reaction. We can all have (and do) our own opinions on how things should happen, how we get to where we need to be and where we need to be in the first place. All that is open for debate and all angles should be considered. But telling energy companies they should spend money now because they'll at least have a few years of demand...NO one with any business experience at all would think that the investment in the life cycle of oil exploration to production would do so for a "couple of years" of waning business. The return on capital would be a disaster. And the energy advisor to the White House should grasp this.
