Denmark trial measures effectiveness of adding a mask recommendation to other public health measures for preventing SARS-CoV-2 infection https://www.acponline.org/acp-newsr...ecommendation-to-other-public-health-measures
You do realize that anyone can create graphics and post them to the internet. Without links to the government websites --- the graphics are just junk and prove nothing. In fact they probably are just nonsense that have been circulating on COVID denier Twitter accounts.
This was what was on their site when the Pandemic took flight in March. Screenshots were made because it was known it would be changed. I've posted it before. Here is Norway right now: https://www.fhi.no/en/publ/2020/Sho...r-facemasks-to-reduce-the-spread-of-COVID-19/ Health authorities have given conflicting recommendations regarding the use of facemasks by asymptomatic individuals in the community to reduce the spread of COVID-19. For example, the World Health Organization (WHO) states that “at present, there is no direct evidence (from studies on COVID-19 and in healthy people in the community) on the effectiveness of universal masking of healthy people in the community to prevent infection with respiratory viruses, including COVID-19”. Yet, “WHO has updated its guidance to advise that to prevent COVID-19 transmission effectively in areas of community transmission, governments should encourage the general public to wear masks in specific situations and settings as part of a comprehensive approach to suppress SARS-CoV-2 transmission”. This includes settings where individuals are unable to keep a physical distance of at least 1 meter. WHO is also strongly encouraging countries to conduct research on this critical topic. So take your twitter BS and shove it where the sun don't shine.
Swedish Health Authority right now: https://www.folkhalsomyndigheten.se...icable-disease-control/covid-19/covid-19-faq/ What is your advice regarding face masks? Listen We do not currently recommend face masks in public settings since the scientific evidence around the effectiveness of face masks in combatting the spread of infection is unclear. However, there may be situations where face masks can be useful despite the uncertain state of knowledge about the effects. We will therefore, in dialogue with the County Medical Offices, decide on situations where recommendations to wear a face mask could be valuable at national or regional level. Examples of such situations could be a visit to the optician or when you cannot avoid using public transport even though it is crowded.
It seems the Danes are the only one of the three I posted to have changed their stance. The dutch also did a complete 180 in October, although masks are still optional.
I don't think so.... Norway - NIPH In certain situations where it is impossible to keep a distance of 1 metre from others, face masks are recommended as an additional measure to prevent infection from people with COVID-19 without symptoms when there is an increasing spread of infection. https://www.fhi.no/en/news/2020/recommendations-about-face-masks/ Norway Recommends Face Masks In Oslo For First Time Since Coronavirus Pandemic Began August 14, 2020 https://www.forbes.com/sites/davidn...e-coronavirus-pandemic-began/?sh=46ae712fc8bc
Netherlands (Holland) Wearing of face masks strongly advised https://www.government.nl/latest/news/2020/10/02/wearing-of-face-masks-strongly-advised Sweden is the only country in Europe that does not advise wearing masks. This is because Tegnell is an idiot.
