Live on the air -- Trump admits to his crime of taking nearly 8 million dollars from foreign governments. Says "it's a small amount of money".
Hunter little stunt in the House.....Nevermind Nancy Mace told him to grow balls ...now he is trying Hunter Biden would comply with a new GOP subpoena if issued again, lawyers say
That's not exactly the whole story. Hunter Biden will only comply with defined conditions. Furthermore, as outlined today, Hunter's lawyers are still saying the existing subpoenas are invalid and the sessions should be in public. Because the earlier subpoenas are invalid, Hunter would be agreeable to testifying if a new valid subpoena was issued. Hunter Biden is basically calling the GOP committee bluff -- they just want to lie about him rather than actually having him testify. Hunter Biden says Republican subpoena invalid but he is still open to answering questions in public https://www.cnn.com/2024/01/12/politics/hunter-biden-republican-subpoena/index.html Hunter Biden attorney Abbe Lowell sent a letter House Republicans on Friday arguing that subpoenas they sent the president’s son in November are legally invalid, because they were issued before the full House authorized an impeachment inquiry on December 13, 2023. The letter cites a Trump-era Office of Legal Counsel opinion that subpoenas issued before the House authorized inquiry in which the subpoenas are based are not enforceable. Biden’s lawyers said they would accept service of a new subpoena. “[N]ow that there is a duly authorized impeachment inquiry, Mr. Biden will comply for a hearing or deposition. We will accept such a subpoena on Mr. Biden’s behalf,” Lowell wrote. But a footnote at the bottom of the page implies that that cooperation would only extend to public proceedings and suggested the “basis” for their discussion of what comes next could be a “procedure for a hybrid process-a public deposition/hearing with alternating rounds of questions for Republicans and Democrats, and with similar rules (e.g., role of counsel in questioning), as is done in a closed-door deposition.” CNN has reached out to Republicans on the House Oversight Committee for comment. Republicans have insisted that Hunter Biden sit for a closed-door session before they would hold public proceedings. This was a concept initially proposed by a Democrat in the House Judiciary Committee that failed but four Republicans voted for it. Hunter Biden’s lawyers have previously said their client is willing to testify in a public hearing and expressed concerns that any closed-doors proceedings could result in selective leaks from Republicans. House Republicans are moving to hold Biden in contempt of Congress for not sitting for a closed-door deposition. The resolution passed out of committees on Wednesday and is expected to hit the floor next week. Biden, along with his lawyers, has gone to Capitol Hill twice in the past two months – first to hold a brief news conference reiterating his willingness to answer questions in a public setting and again this week to attend the committee vote on holding him in contempt. Rep. Jamie Raskin of Maryland, the top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, said: “Hunter Biden is giving Republicans exactly what they have been demanding this week. In a letter today he has offered to appear for a ‘hearing or deposition.’ It is time for Chairs Comer and Jordan to call off this truly absurd and wasteful contempt proceeding and finally take yes for an answer, which Chair Jordan already said he would ‘certainly’ do.”
One of the little things that has undoubtedly occurred to Hunter and his attorney by now- not that they have had their little fun- is that in the end the Committee can still have it both ways. ie. they can let Hunter refuse to appear and let he and Joe deal with the bad optics over the two-tiered system, and then also hold a full hundreds of hours committee hearing with Hunter there (he said he would be there right?) and go into living color detail on all the issues and also forces Hunter to publicly plead the fifth over and over. That is long grueling process where they have to question him in five minute bites and then let the dems have five, or they can lengthen the periods that alternated. But they can make him rue the day he decided to go that route. It would be big and messy and January 6th style with big screens if they want. Does the White House want that in an election year. If so, giddy-up, let's go. Most likely now that they have had their little fun, reality is setting in as they hear the rumors about how the pubs can counter his giving them the finger. Good, As the realtors say, "let's get this started."
Let's see how the GOP House Committee investigation into Hunter Biden is doing... Oh, LOL. Republicans’ bid to hold Hunter Biden in contempt appears to be suspended https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024/jan/17/hunter-biden-contempt-of-congress-house-republicans
That's quite a laughable excuse of why you have no evidence whatsoever to support your impeachment efforts of Joe Biden. Comer Claims ‘Average Guy’ Status as Reason For Limited Impeachment Detail As He Clashes With Raskin https://dailyboulder.com/comer-clai...impeachment-detail-as-he-clashes-with-raskin/ House Committee on Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) is asserting that his lack of legal expertise, coupled with his “average guy” and business background, is the explanation for the scarcity of detailed evidence in the impeachment proceedings against President Joe Biden. This lack of evidence has sparked a clash with Representative Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) and has placed the GOP’s impeachment efforts under intense scrutiny. (More at above url)
If Biden receives money and it only goes to his family for no work its still corruption Even if Joe did not get any direct money but in kind to his family he is guity
What is there to be guilty about? The stance of the republican party is that the president is above the law. The President using The Office to benefit himself personally has been dealt with through an impeachment proceeding. Plus we know that Biden can do whatever he wants with Seal Team 6 and Kamala can ensure that Biden will be president for life.
Comer? More like Liar. New Transcript Blows Up James Comer’s Entire Hunter Biden Argument A new transcript from a key Hunter Biden witness undercuts many of the claims Republicans are making about “Biden corruption.” https://newrepublic.com/post/178330/new-transcript-blows-up-james-comer-hunter-biden-argument The House Oversight Committee on Tuesday released the transcript of the testimony of Kevin Morris, a friend of and attorney for Hunter Biden, and his statements undercut everything Republicans have said about the embattled first son. Morris is a high-powered entertainment lawyer in Los Angeles who met Hunter at a 2019 presidential fundraiser for his father, Joe Biden. Morris has loaned Hunter nearly $5 million in the years since. He testified about his relationship with Hunter in a closed-door committee hearing last week. Initially, Oversight Chair James Comer just released a list of paraphrased highlights from Morris’s testimony. Comer claimed that Morris informally loaned Hunter the money and does not expect to be repaid until after the 2024 election—or possibly ever. But the transcript shows this couldn’t be further from the truth. In reality, Morris never once mentioned the possibility of forgiving the loans. Instead, he said he has a “100 percent” expectation that Hunter will repay him, and repeatedly states that he and Hunter have a series of promissory notes agreeing the younger Biden will pay back the money. What’s more, Morris testified that there is a “balloon” on the loans set for after the election. This means that Hunter is currently making low or even no payments but will start making lump repayments in 2025. The only person who mentions loan forgiveness in the entire interview is Representative Andy Biggs. The Arizona Republican has been a vocal critic of the Biden family, accusing them of criminal wrongdoing. Biggs asked what consequences Hunter would face if he defaulted on these loans. Morris joked that, hypothetically, a lender could ask the borrower to “come over and wash your car for the rest of their life.” Biggs replied, “Or you can forgive. You can forgive it.” Morris agreed that was an option, but he never said he would. Morris also repeatedly stated that Hunter never asked him for the money. Morris would voluntarily send money through his lawyers to Hunter’s, but the younger Biden did not ask him to do so. Morris only gave Hunter cash directly once, when he bought two paintings on their second meeting in 2019. And again, he wants the rest of the money he loaned paid back with interest. Ultimately, the whole interview takes much of the bite out of Comer’s accusations. Comer has repeatedly accused Hunter of influence peddling and accepting bribes, which implies Hunter can be bought—and so can his father in the White House. Instead, Morris describes Hunter as “a guy getting the crap beat out of him” by addiction, money troubles, grief, and paparazzi obsession—but who still won’t ask for help. Morris’s lawyer accused Comer last week of grossly misrepresenting what Morris actually said during his deposition. Bryan Sullivan slammed Comer’s “cherry‐picked, out of context and totally misleading” press release and demanded the representative release the full transcript. Oversight Committee Democrats have previously accused Comer of misrepresenting witness testimony in his quest to prove the Biden family is guilty of criminal wrongdoing. Comer has for months accused the president of corruption and influence peddling, but he has yet to produce any actual evidence.
