this is a "hearsay anonymous informant". IOW, a "reliable whistleblower" pinky promised Cummer that he has a missing informant.
Rep Comer: I DEMAND The FBI show me documents they are hiding related to their investigation of Hunter Biden. FBI: Sure thing, just stop by the office anytime and we'll be happy to. Comer: er, um, not good enough, I DEMAND you send them to ME. Comer is such a clown --- his committee is a clown circus. James Comer Rejects FBI’s Offer To Show Him Documents He's Requesting In Biden Probe https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/poli...ts-he-s-requesting-in-biden-probe/ar-AA1bXobO
Of course, the document James Comer wants from the FBI came from Rudy Giuliani. Remember FD-1023 forms at the FBI are used to record unverified questionable rants from deranged idiots. This certainly qualifies when Rudy is the interviewee. All roads lead to Giuliani in the GOP’s quest for Biden dirt House Republicans are prepared to hold the FBI director in contempt over an unproven allegation about Joe Biden that comes via Ukraine. https://www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnbc...ns-fbi-biden-investigation-giuliani-rcna87269
They are preparing to hold the FBI Director in contempt for not producing the document demanded in the subpoena. It is not the FBI's job to pre-determine what is true or not true in the document ultimately. The fact that the FBI's oversight committee is requesting it is sufficient in and of itself. And let us just say that most people agree that the FBI needs more oversight, not less these days due to their history of selectively pursuing or selectively ignoring various complaints. Further, Comer has already seen the document, unredacted and states that he is already in possession of bank transaction records confirming the transactions alleged in the document. They need to get a physical copy of the form from FBI because the committee is working the issue- not just of the Biden bribery- but of the FBI's lack of response to the complaint. So they want to document that the FBI had it in their possession. You don't need to worry about what is true or untrue in that document. The Oversight Committee has requested it and it is no classified and if they attempt to make it so, then the Committee is still entitled to hold a secured copy in its possession.
That's a fine narrative you have there. Maybe it is what Comer and the MAGA supporters are preaching -- but not exactly aligned with facts, law, and reality. Let's start with there is not requirement for the FBI to turn over this type of investigative form to Congress -- as established previously. All the way back to the times of Hoover.
Let the court decide. We just went through months of the Treasury Department, and your ilk arguing that the Oversight Committee had no right to the bank transaction records based on this and that. All fine and dandy. Except the court decided that they did and Comer is sitting there will of them and more to come as addition subpoenas flow from the additional banks identified in the newly received material. I am really more interested in what the court says, rather than what your dnc script tells you to say.
Let me ask... do you think the opposition party in Congress should be allowed to fund some crank (like Rudy Giuliani) to go to the FBI and spew all sorts of questionable fiction about the President's family and then form a committee to demand the form from the FBI outlining the interview which contains all sorts of untrue and unproven information -- with the intent of causing political harm to the President? If this was allowed then politicians in Congress would do it over and over again to cause harm to their opponents. This is why the FBI is only allowed to hand over information in a subpoena which is effectively proven & factual in an investigation -- which does not include FD-1023 forms. This policy has been through the courts decades ago and is established policy to prevent the abuse of the FBI by politicians. SAR reports from banks are factual -- these were handed over to the Oversight Committee many weeks ago. Comer and the GOP clowns tried to claim these records showed all sorts of corruption -- but their assertions were laughed off as a political stunt.
Okay you are headed for another one of your repetitive, reiterative ratholes. I, on the other hand, said I will will wait for the court decision. As I said previously, you and your ilk had all the reasons why Treasury should not release the bank records too. Until the court told them otherwise. In the meantime, we are not talking just a "request from a political opposition party." We are talking about a request from the Congressional Oversight Committee responsible for overseeing all operations and actions of the FBI. This is not only something they want to do- it is their sworn obligation. And they want to know whether the FBI recieved the complaint and what they did with it, if anything. It is a valid line of inquiry on their part and they are not obligate to ascertain the the truthfulness of lack thereof in the complaint as part of requesting it. Let the court decide. Make your repetitive points another twelve times and then let it go. It did not help you or Biden on the Treasury subpoenas. Maybe you will get lucky this time.
First keep in mind that the FBI has offered to show the requested document in a secure location so it would not leak and become political fodder. Apparently this is not good enough for Comer because his entire intent is to leak the document to target President Biden. There are numerous previous court decisions regarding the documents which the FBI is required or not required to hand over to Congress. The Congressional Oversight Committee does have the right to subpoena FBI employees, ask questions about surveillance programs, spending/budget, programs, policies, operations, completed background investigations and factual written evidence records generated in the course of select FBI investigations (this does not include FD-1023 forms). Usual the FBI is prohibited from providing information where the investigation is currently open and active (e.g. the Hillary email scandal). Most of these Congressional requests regarding open investigations are ignored -- until the investigation is completed. Keep in mind the issues with witness tampering and other problems.
