As one of the most influential Dems in Congress his enthusiastic support was certainly not meaningless

So they had the option to discharge student loan debt after 5 years until Biden was the main Dem supporter of a bill that took that right away?

It's not an easily accessible option, it fact it's quite onerous to qualify.

Not sure where all the Biden hate is coming from. Maybe someone else has the where-with-all to track down his specific voting record on the issue. In any case, his current position is one of providing relief and currently being blocked by the Republicans.

Biden helped remove the option completely.According to your source it didn't seem to difficult.

I don't believe his current position is one of providing relief and currently being blocked by the Republicans. At first I did but later learned he used the weakest law to discharge student debt when there was a better option that he was told to use by Elizabeth Warren and others who truly support providing relief.

Proving undue hardship isn't as simple as checking off your bullet point.

Maybe my mental model needs updating, idk, haven't really considered revisiting the issue until you brought up this consideration.

I don't give a shit if a Dem or Repub does it, if a bill is going to pass and you can get your amendments in, its good enough in my book.

Purists only exist in academia or are perpetual losers like most progs who have constantly lost battles to Cons.

Enjoy the lol's when SC is raping everything moderates have accomplished in the last 60 years.

    LOL

brb LBJ getting CRA passed meaningless because he was a racist.

I can post a bunch of nonsense too you know.

They could just wait 5 years than. Most people spend 20 years paying off student loans cutting that down to 5 is still huge relief.
