  3. Warren is discussed endlessly for Treasury so there is no news there.

What gets dicey and is not discussed much- yet anyway- is that Massachusetts has a republican governor who would get to appoint Warren's replacement, probably until the midterms - unless they have a special election.

Under Mass law the governor could even appoint a republican to take her place. Usually they try to be civilized and not do that, but they appoint a dem who is a real loser to muck the future election to replace the one that vacated.

Have to be careful there. And elsewhere. You have Klobuchar who wants a cabinet position. And Tammy Duckworth - both being senators too of course. So the dems need to be careful not to muck their plans to hold the senate or to stand up to pubs in the senate even if they are not majority. And there is talk about Bernie being Secretary of Labor so there is another one. Probably several more if I scratched my head. Have to have a plan for every senator who leaves the senate. As I said, even if a governor replaces a dem with a dem just to be a sport they can chose someone is programmed to lose in the next election.

Maybe when Klobo leaves to join the Cabinet, her fellow Minnesotan, Ilan Omar will be appointed to take her place. Viewers can decide whether I am joking or not.

  6. I still believe Warren is not qualified for Treasury and it is more her demanding then real people accepting it. Plenty of Wall Street thank yous needed for fund raising so I expect it to go to one of them.

Let Bernie had Secy of Labor...what does that department even do anyway.... most labor issues are local and it is more about general policy or funding programs. bernie will be long forgotten at Labor just like Carson at HUD.

The problem with the candidates who were running is that Harris, Warren, Sanders, and Klobo are all Senators and giving them cabinet would mean 4 vacancies to fill. Biden will not consider any of them until the GA Special Elections are done to see what the situation is.

Give Klobo HUD so we don't have to hear her whiny voice anymore.

  7. Warren 2005 version more than qualified for cabinet position. Warren 2020? Train wreck of a woman in perpetual hysteria.
Big problem as mentioned is leaving open senate seats. Could bite them in 2022.

  8. I think Biden should just stay quiet on Cabinet ideas until this is settled. No need to piss off the Senate who needs to confirm....Let the kiss asses go on TV to beg for positions but Biden right now does not owe them anything until this is settled and they should repsect that. Most agencies will spend the next year with Acting Administrators and Acting Chief Counsels anyway so the Cabinet can be done quickly in a month.

Rushing to pick the losers from the primaries is not always the best path. Those people had to drop out and throw their support behind Biden. It is not like they made some great deal to say they would drop out and only promise to throw their support Biden's way in exchange for something. They had no choice..think about it. So they shoudl be greatful their party won and most of them have current political jobs anyway.

  9. Joe has a tough path to walk with these appointments and does, as you said, need to lay low a bit so as to not prematurely piss off the Senate and others with the lefties being considered.

But Joe's problem is even larger than that. Joe is answerable to his lefty handlers, but at heart, Joe is just a "good ole boy." He has spent his entire adult life inside the beltway and has been buddy buddy with Strom Thurmond, Jesse Helms, Robert KKK Bird, etc. and anyone else who has been a good ole boy. He will continue to try to market that by promoting himself as a "unifier who works across the aisle." In fact, as I said, he is just good ole boy.

What I am getting at is - yes he does not want to spring his lefty choices on people just yet- but he does not want to spring his good ole boy duds on people just yet either and thereby prematurely rankle the leftie. The probability of John Kasich getting a cabinet or similar position is over 95%. And then the names of Mitt Romney and Jeb Bush and so on down the line. Joe loves all those people because they are good ole boys just as he is. Oh excuse....I meant to say because he is a "bipartisan unifier." Yeh okay.

So he has duds on both the left and the rinos that he needs to downplay for a bit longer because they are not necessarily crowd-pleasers.

You guys keep forgetting Biden beat all of the “lefties” and no he should not slow down building his cabinet. The cabinet needs to be ready on day one. This isn’t some kind of a joke, this is the most serious business in the country.

Biden should build his cabinet with good consideration and in a timely manner.

Also, there is only so long these republicans in the senate, with presidential ambitions of their own, and who witnessed the Trump shitshow first hand, are going to abide Trump. Some of these guys are spoiling for a fight.
