In World History, religion is taught as part of it although not from a religious point of view (i.e. not about Christ himself or teachings and beliefs) but about Christianity and the spread of it, the Crusades, Cathedrals, Pogroms, Ottoman Empire etc... The protestant movements, Pilgrims etc... it is all taught as part of history but the religious faith portions are not taught, just historical significance.
Nearly every middle school in the U.S. teaches a unit on comparative religions as part of the world history class. These lessons simply teach the basics about every major religion; it does not attempt to indoctrinate anyone. No further education about Islam or any other religion needs to be done in public schools; this is the limit of what should be expected to maintain separation of church & state — and to prevent abuses by overzealous teachers. Biden is foolish if he believes that the basics of Islam are not taught today in public schools and totally off base if he believes further religions instruction should be provided. I expect he was just pandering to the audience in his speech.
Lol . . . . . exactly , Biden said ''I wish we thought more ABOUT the Islamic faith , I wish we talked more ABOUT all the great confessional faiths.'' But leave it to the drama-queen Karen-a-leenaas. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "I wish we taught more in our schools about the Islamic faith. I wish we talked about all the great confessional faiths. It's one of the great confessional faiths," Biden said Monday at the “Million Muslim Votes” summit hosted by Emgage Action.
"And I said, Hey, gunner man, that's quicksand, that's quicksand, that ain't mud ...Have you thrown your senses to the war, or were they just in the flood?"
