Biden 2020

  1. Town Halls are softball set up meet and greets which are overkill when these guys are on the news every single day.

The debates will shatter viewership records for sure so if Trump or Biden have a weak rating town hall I would not put much stock into it.

Most Americans would rather watch the playoffs or other shows than a 1.5 town hall and simply watch the news the next day for the 10 min highlights. AInt no one got time for that long winded bullshit.

  3. If the lefty networks stacked the townhall questioners with hit job people as they did for Trump, then it would be more interesting.

As I said in an earlier post, I think there will be some interludes in the debates, but that will be mostly video questions from high school students who all want to know if they are going to die from corovirus or just from Trump type of stuff.

Chris Wallace will be a mixed bag. He has been tough on Trump- he leans over backwards to prove that he is not a fox guy. On the other hand, he has been quite vocal about how at least Trump has shown up to disgrace himself over and over and take questions, whereas Joe has consistently, consistently declined interviews with Fox. Might be a price to pay there for Joe but the other networks will fluff his pillow up with softball questions such as: Mr. Vice President, we have a question from Johnny who is a quadraplegic and lost his entire family to Covid: "Mr. Vice President, do you think that the corovirus epidemic is worse than the pandemic of 1918 or about the same and do you think we did everything we could to respond to this threat that is going to kill all of us?" Joe goes to his notes.

I wonder if Joe will be able to wear his earpiece during the debates as he has been doing consistently lately. You know so that the team in the control booth can give him the answers. That gig is going to end at some point and Joe gonna have to fend for himself.

    About the debates:

Trump objectively lost every debate he had with Clinton. He not only didn’t know what he was talking about half of the time he did creepy weirdo stuff but what got through was his messaging. Clinton was too focused on being a know it all and having plans while Trump was using the time to accuse her of crimes (she never committed) and bash immigrants.

Biden is reformulating his message right now - Scranton vs Park Ave, Ivy League vs Middle class, privilege vs hard work.

  5. Joe had a choice, politics, or a job at McD's. The rest is history.

I agree the debates are the main event..... and all these town halls, etc. are next to meaningless. Even the conventions were meaningless in terms of swaying the polls beyond a slight temporary post-convention bump for each party.

  7. Sitting president should get tough questions for the most part since issues are being addressed that happen on his watchand the questions asked that I saw were not unreasonable or unfair.

Trump did what every politician did, he started his first sentence addressing it and then answered whatever he wanted with soundbites and commenting about his ratings, polls, stock market....

Also with Trump it is fair game because he makes so many claims thatare stretched about policy decisions and issues that he shoudl have to answer questions about it rather than hiding behind Kayleigh...

  8. Well, that is your view from Camp Lefty.

In reality, lefty network moderators such as George Staphaloccocus flat out debate Trump when he appears and talks with others. If Joe does not appear, not a problem. "They understand." If he does appear, they just listen to whatever babble comes out of Joe rather than interject themselves into the middle.

  9. Joe is reformulating his message?

    Ahhh, no.

Joe's handlers may be working on it, but not Joe, and then Joe will find out when he listens in his earpiece from his campaign as he speaks.

  10. Well he said something that contradicts stuff he said before....and he is the President...so it seems normal to clarify an incorrect statement.
