I've noticed this happening with 981 as well. Oddly, I've only noticed it on limit orders I've had sitting out there. Others beside them keep moving and the quotes for my order stall. It's not often and not every day, but you need to be able to trust what you are seeing in front of you.
I noticed another oddity with this issue today. I had a limit order sitting there and the market is moving but the prices in the order window were not. In the quote panel (where the same quote exists) the prices were moving - but still frozen in the order window. Then I grabbed the lower border and adjusted the size of the order window just a bit and the prices started updating again. I had a newer order on top of that one and it was moving fine. It feels like a java thing or something. Just guessing but I thought I'd throw this out there if anyone at IB is debugging this.
^^^^^^^^ Ahaha, that's very funny! I do not use IB, but from what I have read here over the years from other IB users, the words "Interactive Brokers" and "debugging" are mutually exclusive.
I do have a related issue. I justed upgraded from TWS 972 to 981. My price updates stop a short while after launching TWS 981. However, only the following windows are affected: quote panel, quote details, and order entry. Sometimes not all of them are affected simultaneously, i. e., quote panel might be "frozen" while order entry and / or quote details still update. All quote elements like last, bid price, bid size etc. are affected. At the same time, quotes continue to update flawlessly in charts or in the "classic" grid. I also see the effect that anytime I click anywhere on the tab quotes update just once in the affected windows. The only way to get the quote stream going again (for a short time) is to restart TWS. When I go back to TWS 972 the problem is gone. Setup: TWS 981.3j (released Jan 19, 2022), offline version, 32-Bit Windows, IB Ireland, tested for Dax future.
That was the problem I was having Bob but that was on v10.11 so I changed to v981. This new problem with the charts was on v981. As it happens, I could only correct it by going back to v10.11 . No doubt something else will happen soon. I'm thinking of using Das now.
Just to wrap this thread up (partially). My issue was: quote streams freeze on certain windows (quote panel, quote details, watchlist (monitor) and order entry) on TWS 981.3 and 10.14.1b, no issues with deprecated TWS 972. I contacted IB support, but they refused to help me since I am still running TWS on Windows 7. Since there is not a lot of complaining about this bug here on Elite Trader, I assume it might really be an operating-system issue, and IB simply broke with Windows 7 compatibility at some point. (Other than that, everything is running fine on Windows 7. For the moment, I am not able to test TWS on a more up-to-date operating system.)
