Stopped out. Counting as -1R for stats even with smaller size because want to keep track of what actually happens...

Almost never make intraday, real time comments- this is on yesterdays LOL. SPY[cash, some derivatives, 2] had weekly record volume ,58 minute candles trying to bust thru Donchian channel[weekly high], yesterday. In a bear market maybe a good short??; but this is a up=trending bull....I like IB[Interactivebrokers] Brokers except they have [ in past]under=reported volume, in a scary way, intraday!!!!! And i dont really know if like ''the volume by price candles ??'' But yesterday, a 58 minute candle, on had ''no selling volume''

A market maker type said ''that's not possible''. I said OK,see your point, mr market maker; but if IT,is a red 58 minute candle , i call that'' sell volume''; vice versa for green buy candles

I better not comment too much on ES, i lost so much on that; but did much better on cash+ other leverage products.I seldom chase anything, use limit orders, but when entry signal gets hit; i may have to= but for swing-position no problem overpaying a bit.

I still paper trade some, after loss or some times to ''do something'' for a good buy or good sell LOL.Unusual moves on 15 minute candles yesterday. You may do well on the short side; when i do a short= its seldom on the 6th day down......................................

Took off last week for winter break at kid's school. Today's signal is/was some continuation and then exhaustion. Always tentative about following after a holiday half day, but signals still seem to work ok. Basically need to enter MOO on days like this, but I don't like doing that at all. So waiting for selling tail to come in, and then trade, if any, will be modest.

I don't care much for market on open, also, unless they're selling huge % gaps.[But i do usually record the open price]
Figure you can do well ,AmyInTX, picking your shots. Overbought indicator, on SPY is showing overbought, since last week in JAN,2017.LOL; trending market$ do that. Don Bright Trading had some nice profits many time$ on NYSE stock opening....................................................

I didn't get my retest at R3 today. I think most days like this I used -100% or -138%, which coincidentally was right by R3. So had that on the brain. Frustrated that I keep getting near fills. I think it's a bit of perfectionism that I'm still fighting.

I saw an education [ school sign] ad, today. it said ''Every Student Matters''. Great ad. I never did get a bad fill on on ES market order exits; used planned limit orders, exits ,also.[Some one asked me today''do you trade ES, full time''??, i said not any more- too many pro traders in ES for me.] But I still prefered limit orders- ES entry - But swing- position traders-investors , can afford to enter a generous limit order. I still do some paper trading some, keeps me out of junk trades-investment, or wrong timing on right trades. I think you may do well in ES, mainly be real careful on ''picking your shots'' Another reason , in my school typing tests, i tended to live nickname ''turtle'' LOL

I meant it didn't revisit -138% so I didn't get filled, not that there was an issue with the order itself. Just not aggressive enough. I struggle with widening stops so look for conservative entries and sometimes miss the move. That's one of the things I'm working on. I'm profitable trading ES only. Just not at all where I'd like to be. Thanks.

That's an advantage'' picking you shots'', especially if you are out @ end of day.I figured you knew that, but good repeating pattern. Did you see that bank trader in Jack Schwager's book, did about 200 million/+ in profits,[ for bank ,LOL.....] paper traded after 3 misses in a row??? I had an limit entry order early FEB, it sat there about 10 minutes, filled about 10 minutes till close.[ multi day or weeks trade]LOL

I don't trade like that - I want my entry to fill before 11:30 or something is wrong with the pattern I'm trading because I'm looking for certain types of momo. Today's opening move is 100% but requires a MOO, which I don't do for risk management reasons (though I'm starting to backtest to see if any of the possible MOO days would have actually gone against me). Then secondary move was expecting exhaustion at -138%, but it didn't hit it twice, with target at -62% (which it hit precisely). Issue is waiting for perfection. I'm out before 3:00 central, never hold over night or even into the short Globex time before 4:00, not enough volume and patterns start to get wonky.
