Best Voip phone system

Discussion in 'Trading Software' started by fearless9, Dec 20, 2007.

  1. At the moment I use skype and comoxo but it is time to review my options again.

I am looking for PC to phone and phone to phone both within and outside N America.

  2. Skype is extremely good for PC2PC calls, but they are extremely expensive when it comes to calling landlines or mobiles.

Check out the betamax VoIP platform, they have numerous clones, but the one I use most is - www.justvoip.com which is free to call US landlines & mobiles, free to most european landlines and pretty cheap for european mobiles (requires that you add €10 of credit).

  3. many thanks A, I will check it out.

I'm using 2 providers - Viatalk and VoipVoip:

I have them for about 4 months now and they both work fine. I like them because I can use my own adapter (Linksys PAP2T). I'm using Viatalk for USA calls and VoipVoip for international. VoipVoip doesn't have monthly fee if you don't need a number.

I've got very reliable DSL line with speakeasy.net. This helps a lot.

  6. it is when you compare it with no monthly subscription and free national and international calls with no connection fees either.

with SkypePro you pay the Skype monthly fee, plus you pay a connection fee per call, and you only get "free" calls within your own country, not overseas which you pay full price per minute for plus connection fee on top.
