I have lived all of my life east of the Mississippi River. There is a good reason why those who live in the west do not want to go east. Anything from attitude, to humidity, to the varied landscape, to the lower state income taxes, to even allergies. I look at it this way, earlier start, earlier finish. And if you are an independant trader no one is forcing you to trade for the whole session. As for states to move to if I needed to be in the Eastern Time Zone, or maybe even the CST, Florida looks good but the hurricanes are a deal killer for me. Maybe spend some time in NYC? Low Tax, High Quality of life, but boring, New Hampshire?
That's one reason I like the Panhandle area of Florida, CST and EST time zones. I do have to agree with the other poster that I like it out west, other than getting up early. Peoples attitudes out here much more layed back. So Calif is paradise as far the weather goes, but high taxes, high housing, and traffic are deal killers for me. I'm probably gonna fly out to Pensacola later this spring and check it out.
South Dakota, Driven through there on the way to Mt. Rushmore. It's like I said about Wyoming, there's a reason there is no taxes. It's pretty damn desolate. Rapid City is ass backwards, Sioux Falls nothing to do, flat as a pancake. Western SD, some strange country folks in those small towns, I will leave it at that. You have seen Delivirance right?
Considering Pensacola and Panama City, I think one is the CST and the other is in EST, either would be fine. Hurricane schmurricane. My sister lives near Ashville, NC. so I have an excape route if needed. Besides, what are the odds of another hurricane season like the last?
I'd rather have three days warning that a hurricane is coming than out out of nowhere wonder why the floor beneath me is shaking. IMO folks in the Bay Area, L.A. and Seattle are the one's who should fear disaster the most.
Nevada...perfect weather, no state tax, always something to do (for everyone, not just gamblers)...15 minutes from water skiing, 1 hour from snow skiing, 3.5 hours from surfing, 15 minutes from hiking and, of course, 24 hours to do whatever you like... And, all your favorite traders live here, LOL.... Don
